Better Than Friday - 9
1. In the Pipeline: Blood, Bone, and Marrow: a Biography of Harry Crews
A bio of the one and only Southern Gothic Georgian madman, author of 'Feast of Snakes'.
2. My Friend (in his 30's) is fighting Stage 4 Cancer - These are his writings.
One of my best friends, a cinematographer and writer, Corey Drayton, who was often there for me during the death of my father, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer last year.
It's an unfathomable, horrific situation, but his writings are an extremely valuable insight into one man's life and battle, raw and uncompromising.
Should you wish to support him, you can do so here.

3. What I'm Watching
Louisiana Channel Interview with Michel Houellebecq
In my opinion, he's one of the greatest living authors.
I was a fan after reading The Elementary Particles
I can't wait for Serotonin which is coming out next month.
4. An Important Thought I'm Thinking
Do more on less projects.
I've left so much on the table by overestimating my abilities to accomplish multiple goals simultaneously.
Had I focused on optimizing 1 or 2 systems, I may have accomplished more.
Because of the Harry Crews biography, George Went Hensley came to mind.
What a character.
A native of rural Appalachia, Hensley experienced a religious conversion around 1910: on the basis of his interpretation of scripture, he came to believe that the New Testament commanded all Christians to handle venomous snakes.
Bet you can't guess how he died.

So sorry to hear about your friend. Praying for him to fight this battle and for his family and friends to stay strong through this. Thank you for informing us about your friend. Peace and blessings.
Sending prayers Corey's way may he find the strength to continue his journey and may his friends and family find the strength to remain positive throughout it.
Thank you so much Aysha.
Hoping for the best for your friend over here. Hope you’re doing okay too.
Doing fine Sean, thank you very much.
FYI the links to The Elementary Particles and Serotonin don't work because you forget the ":" after https
Fixed - Thank you for catching that.
Serotonin is a blast (in its Norwegian translation at the very least), so I’m excited to hear your thoughts on it soon! I’ve been on the fence about dropping a project recently that has stolen a lot of energy over the past few weeks/months, to fully focus on two other projects, so this post came at a great time. You are absolutely right!
