FILM REVIEWS START IN OCTOBER
Hello everyone, thank you for your generous donations to Better Than Food.
As of Oct.1'st, I will be uploading and posting film reviews in addition to book reviews on this Patreon channel.
This decision came from the recent Poll I posted. The results were overwhelmingly in favor of me adding film reviews.
Those of you who do not wish to monetarily support the film reviews may delete your pledge. I've been very grateful for your support, thank you.
To everyone else, there's some AWESOME stuff coming your way, thank you for the support!
As of now the new prizes for the lottery will be a 1 month subscription to Mubi or Filmstruck, and I'm open to suggestion as well if you'd like to hit me up.
I'd also love to hear any film recommendations you have!
Hope this finds you well, thanks again for everything.
Cliff

Check out Filmatique. Amazing streaming service for foreign films. These are newer films - 4 years or less unavailable from anywhere as far as I can tell.
BUT Eyes Without a Face is a great French horror film that deserves a bigger audience ahaha
Hi Cliff. In my opinion I'd say steer towards far more obscure films and get your personal favourites out the way on the new channel first. As cool as it would be to see you review some cult classic stuff, it would be kind of redundant since all the people who voted for you to start doing film reviews again will already be well-versed in all of the classics of most movie genres themselves. It would be really cool to see you review some obscure stuff because it will give us an insight to your personal film taste whilst still giving us recommendations for films that most people probably won't have seen and so can go away and discover them anew!
Do "Drive," for sure, or anything Refn ("Neon Demon" fucked me up). Maybe "Fando y Lis" or "Lucifer Rising" (practically anything Anger or Jodorowsky, really). I haven't seen it yet, but maybe "Mandy" so far as newer movies go (I enjoyed "Beyond the Black Rainbow," myself). "Vivre Sa Vie," "Daisies," "Satyricon," "Synecdoche New York," "Permanent Vacation"... I'll stop.
I'd like to recommend a german movie called "Der Nachtmahr" (the english title is "the nightmare" though not to be confused with a documentary of the same name also made in 2015). The movies is probably best described with the adjective "lynchian". Imagine if David Lynch had directed E.T. and set the movie in Berlin's techno scene. That's pretty much Der Nachtmahr. Ohh, also Kim Gordon has a cameo in the movie. You should be able to get a hold off it on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Nightmare-Nachtmahr-Kim-Gordon/dp/B078NLMSHP/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537651072&sr=8-1&keywords=der+nachtmahr
But be careful with the amazon stream for some people the movies ending was apparently cut off, the movie should be 89 min long. If this error wasn't fixed, I obviously wouldn't recommend watching it on stream. you can get the German DVD version, it does have english subtitles: https://www.amazon.com/Der-Nachtmahr-DVD/dp/B01EY0UFOC/ref=sr_1_3?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1537652312&sr=1-3&keywords=der+nachtmahr
