Better Than Friday - 351
Hi there y'all -
We're about to embark on the second leg of our journey to the desert, so there will be no Better Than Friday next week as I'll be on the road somewhere in Northern Arizona.
This last week I was reading Gabrielle Wittkop's 'Exemplary Departures' (excellent so far) when I discovered that it's currently not in stock. Fortunately, the publisher informed me that it's scheduled to be restocked in October. So, a bit behind, but I've pivoted, and will catch up as soon as possible.
Hope you're having a great summer, and wishing you a relaxing weekend.
Thanks very much for your continued support.

Fascinating video about the wild history of a strange French theater style.
A very cool photo taken by my Mom - A carving of Pan from a 19th-century French table owned by her neighbor, a retired antique dealer who specialized in Rococo antiques. The piece had hooved feet as well.

Enjoy the Southwest! Should you find yourselves passing through Flagstaff and need of a quality sandwich, I recommend giving Joejoebob's a look. On the other side of the coin, if you are in reservation territory you may find the "Highway 89 Yummy Shack" to your liking. Proper roasted mutton, potatoes, and green onion on fryrbread with a hefty sprinkle of salt: hard to beat!
Thank you very much! Oh Hell Yeah - both of those places look outstanding, thanks very much for your recommendations, really appreciate it!
Best of luck on your trek westward! I hope Arizona serves you guys well. That's a beautiful state. I've been wanting to read Exemplary Departures for some time. Nice to hear it'll be easier to get ahold of sooner rather than later. The Man Who Wasn't There is a great one! Deakins' B&W photography in that one is excellent.
Thank you very much! Yeah it looks stunning - we can't wait to explore it. Nice, yeah I was really enjoying Wittkop's book, hope you get ahold of it. Agreed, beautifully shot film.
