Better Than Friday - 347

Good evening folks -

Next up is "The Moon and the Bonfires" by the Italian author Cesare Pavese - coming soon.
Hope those of you in Europe are hanging in there. I hear that heat is brutal.
Have a nice weekend, and thank you very much for your continued support.

1. Book to read: The Quark and the Jaguar by Murray Gell-Mann (Paid Link)
A book written by the theoretical physicist responsible for discovering the 'quark' and who was also a friend of Cormac McCarthy, who helped Gell-Mann a bit with this book.
Found out about Murray Gell-Mann in this talk with McCarthy.

2. Ingmar Bergman's Demons
   An interesting confessional interview.

3. "Sin Eating"
An examination by the channel "Past and Curious" of a strange old practice I'd never heard of. Begs the question of course - What does Sin taste like?

4. "Why the Original Wicker Man (1973) Was Intentionally Erased"
A fascinating investigation from the channel Golden Flicker. Nicely done.
Had no idea that it left the director Robin Hardy's family in such a terrible place.

5. Killin' Time by Clint Black
Heard a fellow in a local bar doing an acoustic cover of this the other night.
   Pretty solid Country music.
