Better Than Friday - 342
Hidy y'all. Dropped the Dispatches review yesterday if you haven't had the pleasure.
It's a book about war, sure - But so much more. Highly, highly recommended.
Meanwhile, preparing to hit the road. Much painting in my near future.
Wishing you a fine weekend, thank you very much for continuing to support the show.
Book to Read: Houses by Borislav Pekić (Paid Link)
Disclosure: The publisher of this book, New York Review Books, sometimes sends me free books for review.
This has come highly recommended recently. A Serbian narrative about the last day in the life of a man who built houses before his city, Belgrade, was occupied by the Nazis.Lale by Tatyana Makharadze and G. Bugadze
A stunning Georgian folk track I came across recently.Jeffrey Lee Pierce documentary by Rock 'N' Roll Mysteries
Had no clue Jarmusch and Pierce were friends. Makes total sense.

The most metal shawming ever shawmed. Found via @eirikir1
David Munrow was an incredible multi-instrumentalist who showcased ancient instruments on his show. He also contributed to the music in Ken Russell’s “The Devils”. Sadly, he took his own life at the age of 33.The great French author Boris Vian playing Sheik of Araby from the channel Ina Best of Jazz
The author of the surrealist novel "L'Ecume des Jours" was also a Jazz musician. Fantastic. Here's an interview with Vian as well.
An extremely generous parting gift from local friend and patron Andrew.
