The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells - PATRON ONLY/Ad-Free
Finishing off the year with one of the greatest books I have ever read.
A Tropical Gothic Horror/Sci-Fi Philosophically Pessimistic novel about a rogue vivisectionist who violates the laws of Nature, and the thin line that separates men and beasts.

This gave me the push I needed to finally read this one, even though ISLAND OF LOST SOULS has been one of my favorite films since the late 60's (I woke today to find myself ancient), playing a few times a year on Creature Features here in the Metropolitan area. Never missed it and still watch it annually. The book was as great as you stated; loved every page. Better Than Food and Better Than The Film which is excellent and essential regardless. Bela Lugosi as the Sayer of the Law and, in his first film performance, the incredible Charles Laughton as Moreau. Enjoy his slitheringly seductive performance as well as that of Lota the Panther Woman, played by the luscious Kathleen Burke, in gorgeous black and white. Please watch; pretty sure you'll dig. And for the love of Crom don't watch the other two versions; you can only do so through rageful laughter. Thanks again for the review. Cheers. #AreWeNotMen
My pleasure! Woah! I'm not sure I've even heard of that early adaptation, I've got to see it!! Bela Lugosi? Incredible. Thank you for the recommendation, sounds fantastic.
All right, a ringing endorsement if I ever heard one. It's on the list.
Awesome, please let me know what you think when you get to it.
Ngl Wells is cool War of the World's is one of my favourites inspite of it being one of those stories you are brought up with.
