Better Than Friday - 308
Good evening ya'll, how goes?
Storms over here.
Wishing you a nice weekend, thanks so much for your continued support.
1. A book gift sent to me recently: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (Paid Link)
A kind gift from friend and viewer Marcel, thank you very much!
I have yet to read Dumas. Definitely overdue.
Anybody read this one? What did you think?
2. The Hit directed by Stephen Frears
A British gangster road film set in Spain, scored by the legendary Spanish flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía.
Terence Stamp and John Hurt were great in this. It was Tim Roth's first film.
Speaking of films with John Hurt...
Alien directed by Ridley Scott - what a solid film. This scene in particular is outstanding.
4. Gallon of PCP skit from the Whitest Kids U' Know
Fun fact - the dude holding the PCP, Zach Cregger, is the guy who directed Weapons.
5. Key West Characters with Peter Santenello
An interesting exploration of the town and some of its denizens. I love that place.

Have you watched Tim Roth's early TV films? I've only watched Made In Britain but he's brilliant even then (it's on YouTube I believe). Had success written all over him from the start.
I saw Made in Britain years ago, yeah he's a terrific actor. I should look into more of his early stuff, thanks for the rec.
I started reading the Count of Monte Cristo, stopped it for a bit though as distracted by more concise books. Apparently the book is a favourite of the author Kazuo Ishiguro.
Yeah it's enormous. Didn't know that regarding Ishiguro, thanks!
