Just catching up and getting into this. Amazing study . . . I didn't underestimate Paglia - she's so awesome in interviewers - but THIS is several notches above.
Whew! Thank you for your glowing review of my Discord posts. It made my day! Great video. I always like hearing your take on material that's already familiar to me because you often pick out and focus on aspects that I miss or brush over. New perspective and all that. For example, in the past I missed the material about Bernini's baroque sculptures at the very end of Chapter 5. I'm not particularly familiar with Bernini's work so I didn't get the reference to the sculpture of St. Teresa. But after your description of St. Teresa as "erotic" and your picture of the statue in your video, I now see that the last paragraph in Chapter 5 is hilarious. Glad to hear that you're enjoying Neumann's "The Origins and History of Consciousness" and that you intend to review it. That book will really bend your mind and cause you to look at Western culture in a new light. Looking forward to the review. Also, looking forward to the livestream on 7/13!
My pleasure - Thanks for all Craig, yeah loving the Neumann. An incredible book. See ya on the 13th!
