Better Than Friday - 240

Hi there friends, how's Friday evening treating you?

The next Paglia video in the Sexual Personae series will be comprised of both Chapters 2 and 3, and that'll be coming in late April, I'll let you know the exact date as we get closer.

Yesterday was the hardest rain of the year, I think, but today was just gorgeous.

Hope it's beautiful wherever you're at as well, thanks so much for your continued support.

1. Book to Read: Erich Neumann "The Origins of Consciousness" (Paid Link)

An outstanding recommendation from Craig, thanks man! Neumann was a student of Jung.

Paglia was heavily influenced by his theory, and he's mentioned extensively throughout Sexual Personae

2. Les Pactes Des Loups: The Brotherhood of the Wolf

Saw this in the theater when I was like 13 - Made a huuuge impact.

A very, very odd amalgamation of French folk horror and martial arts action film.

My introduction to Vincent Cassel as a goofball demonic aristocrat, and Monica Belluci as a mysterious fortune teller.

Warning: Violent Scene (but so rad)

(Also please watch in the original French with subtitles instead of the awful English dub)

3. Bookbinding Youtube Channel

Man if I had the time...

The Bookbinding Youtube Channel Four Keys Book Arts.

4. Me and the Man in the Moon

Love this vintage classic.

So curious about this "Bonnie & Clyde" album thing...Came across when I was looking for a clip of the track, did they really listen to this??

5. Girl in a Burning Field by Tyler Wu

A fine musician hailing from Vancouver BC.

So cool this guy's a fan of the show.

For fans of Slowdive, The Jesus Mary Chain, and My Bloody Valentine.

Le Pacte des Loups, saw it in the theater when I was in high school. Freaking loved it. It's kind of crazier french Sleepy Hollow. Now that I think about it, it has some tonal similarities to that French book you reviewed, about the murders in the isolated village in the 1800s (?), and following a murderer through the snow over hills...

Totally! Yeah you're absolutely right, "Blood in the Snow" by Jean Giono - Great book.
