I loved the WoW video game talk as for me I'm always drawing parallels to my video game world and would love a video game stream!

If anyones looking for a non-toxic MMO, Fallout 76 is great. It got hate at the beginning because there was no NPCs (it was better without them, it was a survival game smh) so the haters stopped playing. You can turn off PVP and most people don't have it on. Also everybody you meet will try to give you a bunch of stuff. Super chill community

I get so mad about modern day online match making. I get so passively toxic, I will strait up not move/play until the last possible second and continue to do so until my frustration passes…..I do not play online pvp for that reason

As a WoW healer main who occasionally tanks (hpal)... You gotta boss the rude DPS players around a little. If they jump a slow-moving or newbie tank, my motto is "they spank it, they tank it," and if they die they can go right ahead and walk back. It's a videogame and we're all here trying to have a good time; being mean/rude gets your heals revoked! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As a former video game translator I would have LOVED a recurring column breaking down my translation decisions. There's so much thought that goes into the localization process that nobody will ever notice because most people only play the game in one language.

Unsolicited single player tower defense game rec: The Last Spell

I was so thoroughly delighted by this Short Rest that I started it over for a relisten the instant I finished it the first time. (1) I always love an Emily and Caldwell vibefest where one or both are crying laughing; (2) I, like Jake, haven’t played console video games in decades and therefore get motion sickness and run in a circle looking at the sky when I try to play a modern first person game; (3) the vibe was just impeccable. Everyone sounded so happy to be together, and there were so many callbacks to their extremely long shared history; I just enjoyed being able to listen to old friends having a great chat. All Short Rests are great, but this one hit just right. (Plus, I could not be more excited that we have more GoNG in our future - I know Jake was talking mechanics when he said that these were some of their most likable PCs, but I have loved these maniacs from the first ten minutes of episode 1. I can’t wait to see what they find in the stars!)

Murph and co are dead on about younger millennials being the meanest in online games, and definitely for Overwatch. Speaking as someone who plays Overwatch and fits that category, I don’t personally scream at people, but I know if I’m tilted enough to type a salty message in chat it’s time to take a break because I’ll only get more upset and tempted to be toxic if I continue.

I think it's so funny that people who used to play league, went to overwatch, and the nerd rage trope (which is reality!) went with them. I've experienced both first hand. Tragedy because those games can be so fun.

as a 10+ year For Honor player, it’s all young men who abuse others on live mic lol. it’s young men who the games are their primary hobby and don’t do much else, so their happiness is tied to win/loss rates of games that are inherently stressful. i just mute every mic before i even start each game

As someone who has played pc overwatch nonstop for 10 years and is the highest rank in the game, people being SO MEAN in lower ranks is purely a way to deflect on them being insecure about their own skills so they find people to blame instead of self reflecting, and supports tend to take a lot of that blame bc the support player base is majority women + content creators love to scapegoat supports so their viewers parrot the ideas :( it’s really bad especially on console unfortunately

The wow idea is the perfect call back to season 1 boobs. Jake can play warrior, Emily a druid and Caldwell a paladin. And murph a priest I guess for some reason.
