It would be Jake & Amir (and Caldwell) Picture this, wolf in a sombrero
I'd watch this group paint their house or play solitaire individually lol they make anything fun or chill
Jake makes me feel better about being a horror weenie- I have too much drama in my own life, I need a happy ending 😄
We have like 3 guys who own a Krenko deck and sometimes they’ll all play it at the same time. We say they’re “Crankin’ their hog” when they play Krenko and they compete for the Goblin King mantle.
I’ve never commented on a Patreon post, but coming out of the woodwork to say NADDpod MtG would become an obsession. I’d gladly watch those videos forever. The thought of Emily and Beardsley teaching Jake how to play 🥹
Please do a Pathfinder 2 short campaign. I think PF2e plays much better for roleplay with 3 action system and more advanced combat manuveres. It would be so funny
[Skaldova spoilers] Came back here from the future to say that I think Jake could really like the Call of Cthulhu system; it’s very intuitive for low-magic fantasy. Skaldova easily could have been a Call of Cthulhu mini campaign. Cults, old magic artefacts, and experimental drugs derived from dead gods are common plot devices in the universe. There’s even a pre-built campaign (can’t remember the name; sorry!) that I GM’ed ages ago that centres around a pitch-black drug derived from an Old God’s blood that’s being sold by a cult to university students.
I can't begin to express how interested I am in not only watching the NADDPOD gang play Magic, but also to watch you all play the Magic modules in D&D. NADDPOD Ravnica would be amazing
PLEASE do the slasher thing
Don't worry Jake I knew what song it was from your singing
Also, red panda in a tiny sombrero. First thought, best thought!
It's obviously just my personal opinion, but: the druids received basically only improvements in the 24 edition, and the paladins got a raw deal. Making divine smite a spell makes sense, but not at the expense of it now costing a bonus action to use (meaning no smite stacking). I am not on online forums, so I don't know if people have felt that paladins just did too much damage, but it kinda bums me out! There are other pros and cons, of course (my precious elemental monk subclass has been completely reworked, which I hate), so I like the idea of a dm/table being willing to set terms to make the best of both!
I also recently learned that lay on hands no longer cures diseases. Another paladin downgrade. 😢
i would love to see y'all play mtg!
For mtg games throw it up on spelltable and use OBS to record! Make group games a Patreon event idk! Could be fun!
ALSO: @Murph: my landlord was Chris Markoff. Now it's his wife. He passed last Feb. Great guy, crotchety as hell. He loved us because we never paid rent late...at least that's what he told me.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO A SHADOWRUN GAME!!!!!
YES. YES. BE ROOTIN', BE TOOTIN', AND BY GOD BE SHOOTIN', BUT MOST OF ALL, BE KIND. I'm so sorry this is my favorite meme ever, I can't believe it got a random Murph shoutout.
Evidence for murph becoming less of a hard ass as a dm, I recently relistened to C1 and the scene where Beverly wants to shove a javelin in a crocodile’s mouth, murph immediately shuts it down.. new murph would absolutely allow that!
I would totally watch a mixed bag of you guys playing Commander!!
I would love to see y'all play Magic the Gathering. It's been years since I've played, and it would be cool to see how the game has changed in that time
Cowboy possum is my boyfriends favorite meme
I feel like if Jake were to play MTG he would definitely be a Timmy, and for that I suggest Gishath
I would love to see the shenanigans that Emily could do in cyberpunk red. I'd also love to see the character she would make.
Please MTG!
I would LOVE to see yall do some MTG stuff! I just got into magic in the last few months playing commander with friends so knowing most of yall play as well is awesome! I'm excited to see what systems you all get into with the shorter stories, there's some really amazing stuff out there and I feel like y'all touched on a almost early Shadowrun world with this season and magitech becoming more prevalent
I also have a commander deck with that Hydra and I love it. It was awesome seeing Emily play it on Critical Role the other day. She went easy on 'em!
Absolutely need a magic stream or video
Emily, if you love Simic, look into a Volo, Guide to Monsters deck. It's my favorite commander, because it incentives using multiple creature types.
ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY INTEREST AMONG ME AND FELLOW NADDPOLES sorry I’m screaming—I’ve been extremely hopeful you guys would play magic the gathering for a mixed bag or something! Friends agreed too ^-^
Shadowrun is my fav system. Really different system but my gosh it's fun!
Murph referencing the “most importantly be kind” meme was something I didn’t know I needed
Would love if y'all started experimenting with making MTG stuff, my friends and I just got into playing Commander so I'm hankering for Magic too
Zaxara is so fun!
GUYS FISH ACTUALLY DO WEAR HATS!!! Orcas have recently been seen to wear dead salmons as hats, which was a TREND that happened in the ‘80s with the orca community and has come back
Joining the gleeful chorus of those who would fricken devour some NADDPOD plays MTG
I would 100% watch you guys play magic! That sounds fun as.
Magic content PLEASEEEE
I'd watch a magic mixed bag. Also I'm the Merph of my magic group. Everyone knows I build weird stuff and if you let me do my thing then before you know it you're using someone else's hand to play. So I'm usually the first to be targeted.
I have never watched Magic or played Magic except once with my uncle and cousin -- and I would LOVE to watch you guys play Magic. Thanks for all the great content!!!
Please please please please PLEASE record some MTG with Beardsley for a Mixed or something it would be so sick
a horse in a jockey hat *now i am the rider and you carry me. gallop forth, my steed.*
The guitar solo-> symphony comparison is so apt, murph’s worlds have gotten so deep!
You guys gotta listen to The Howling Salt Mine — it’s Dungeon Court for Commander MTG!!! The host, Sam, is a huge NADDPOD fan Also any time yall have brought up Commander the last few months I get giddy
If you did do an mtg mixed bag, it could be fun to build decks for each person based on their characters. Like Jake playing Jorn, God of Winter because Calder is snow/ice themed, Moonshine is elves tribal or hugs, Jens is a fight deck because he challenges people to duels, etc… Could even have Caldwell make proxy art for the commanders so they are the characters but have the cards abilities! (Like the Godzilla cards in the Ikoria set)
Anyone else chomping at the bit for another jasper william Cartwright guest dm mini campaign?!??!!?!
quick q: couple name gunkshine or moongunk?
It sounds like you guys should try "Monster of the Week" as a potential new system it's a very simple D6 system that focuses heavily on RP and story telling that's incredibly easy to learn and each player class is built around the idea of a different horror stereotype
I don't remember it as being horror per se, but it's at the very least an extremely fun and easy to pick up system! The shenanigans would have a field day!
I am so interested in seeing you guys play MTG!!!
Randomly restarted campaign three after listening to this and Murph is describing the 5 kingdoms 200 years later starts getting into asmodia and sure enough Caldwell yells out “how’s the food, though?”
Such a good opossum meme
Oh gosh, I would love some more Eldermourne!! I need my Zirkuska!!!
I would love to see MTG
Adding my interest in a Magic the Gathering mixed bag! I stopped playing around the time Planeswalkers came out so this commander thing, and Em's excitement, has piqued my interest again!
Commander mixed bag would be so fun
Would do absolutely anything for yall to do a magic the gathering thing
Elephant with a fez
A magic the gathering mixed bag would be great
Re: Call of Cthulhu i feel like people make a lot of assumptions about the system but the newest edition is pretty well constructed and covers a lot of the things people are skeptical about (fraught terms like "madness" for example). Also NADDPod is literally full of players RPing being charmed or otherwise being told how to roleplay so that doesn't seem like much of an issue
Hell yeah NADDPod MTG mixed bag!
So absolutely true about Murph being less of a hardass, I’m relistening to C1 and there is NO way C1 Murph would have let the Gunk shit fly
MTG mixed bag a million times over plz
I literally had to grab my phone off the counter — almost falling out of the shower, mind you — to recommend that y'all play the Shiver system!! Your character is a horror movie archetype (I was the "experiment" when I played with friends in a summer camp setting) and the system is both easy to learn and has devastating consequences if it comes to that.
Please play Cthulhu!
Bake Giblets!!
As a yugioh lover and non magic player, would love to see you play magic!
Please please please do a magic the gathering mixed bag
I love call of Cthulhu and would love to listen to y’all play it! Shadowrun is cool too but it’s so crunchy that it would be a lot to learn for a short campaign
Attack of the Clones Mixed Bag when????
I think I would pass away if yall ever ran Delta Green. That’d be everything to me.
I would love to hear the gang play through the pathfinder beginners set. I have listened to those 4 episodes religiously they make me laugh so hard. Caldwell as the dm in there really shined too
I would LOVE a Commander video. Seeing Murph hit the table with "Krenko Kranks" would be awesome. Thanks for answering my question on my birthday!
I’d watch the hell out of a magic the gathering session! I have no idea how magic works, but I didn’t know how DnD worked until I listened to your show either. Some business advice for y’all (or just for Cake I guess). Y’all should advertise what you put on your mixed bag tier more often. Like I’m only at the short rest tier and I really have no idea what I’m missing by not paying for the higher tier stuff. You might be able to get more of my money…
Man, Jake would love the 2024 fighter.
i would love to watch an mtg video also isu is the correct snow commander but i built one for a secret santa gift with chulane
How do you not pick a paw paw in a wimple?!
Emily talking about recording for D20 + Murph's hair in the Ask a DM stream = SSO2???
and the starstruck live show that's happening next year. definitely giving us sso2 hints
Just a Thursday in Canada, but have a happy holidays everybody!
Brine Turkey and the gobblers do it again
Emily, Omo is my Unmodified Precon for game nights when I go out to the local game store and I haven't lost a game yet with it. It's such a powerful fun Precon that can be modified in so many ways
Murph took no time at all to volunteer himself and had it all buttoned up to protect his friends. What an absolute king. 👑
SEAHORSE IN A YANKEE WITH BRIM?!?!?!
The one game I would absolutely love to see them play is Fiasco. It would only be good for a one shot but since it's an improv game with no prep it might make a good off week episode. 0 it's basically about a group of people hatching a stupid plan and then immediately self-destructing. It's amazing.
Orcas are once again wearing little salmon hats, they used to 37 years ago but its back in fashion as of recently
I need y'all to play magic!!!!!
Murph is such a good little paladin. Immediately volunteering to be the one to be sacrificed, he can play a shithead but he can’t escape Lawful Good in the real world.
He’s my favorite integrity buff.
Please do a MtG video! I’ve been trying to learn for so long and would love to see how y’all play!
Here's a lateral event happening soon. “The Critical Role episode featuring a Magic: The Gathering, Commander game will air on December 3, 2024 at 7 PM Pacific. The episode will be part of the EverythingIsContent series and will feature: Matthew Mercer, Liam O'brien, Ify Nwadiwe, and Emily Axford."
YOU GUYS they are recording for D20, I can’t wait for more intrepid heroes
Now that Thanksgiving is here, I think it is time to post this song; the greatest song ever written about the Grinch. You're a Dirty One, Mr. Grinch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX1pZUwUi_U
happy thanksgiving two crew! and thanks for answering my silly question!!🩷
Kids on Bikes seems like it would be a good system for a slasher-flick style one-shot. Maybe a camp counselor themed thing, like that video game Murph and Emily did voice work for
Shadowrun in cyberpunk ezry would rock so hard tbh
I played Call of Cthulhu once. The first thing I did was punch a widow for the contents of a cigar box. The last thing I did was punch a ghost who was masquerading as my father. There was much punching in between.
Super interested in an MTG mixed bag episode!
I’m relistening to campaign one atm and it is wild how much everyone has quite literally leveled up.
I feel the exact same way about movies Jake. I really dislike nihilistic horror movies and nihilistic movies in general even when they are really good. Like Hereditary I can appreciate is a good horror movie but I don’t want to rewatch it ever again.
There is interest in a video MBoH that features you guys playing MtG
Since Emily’s watched Attack of the Clones we gotta hear her review of it!!
Nothing makes my heart sing more than getting a return to eldermourne with hexbuds adventure. Maybe a perfect time to introduce Caldwells character, monster of the week and do it using pathfinder
Omg, please do space campaign!
MTG mixed bag pleaseeeeeeeee
Blades in the Dark would be an excellent system for a cyberpunk Ezry campaign! It's such a fun system and it's crime focused
I want nothing more than the chaos of Emily Axford getting flashback mechanics
pls play on video i’ve always wanted to try magic and would love to watch and learn
I always wanted to see the capital of the empire in Eldermourne.
I would be very interested in an MTG video mixed bag!
I would literally watch a weekly magic video
a lovely honk shoo to you and yours
Yooo, a NADDPOD mtg game would be super sick!!! I would definitely like to see that someday!
Murph in the last question just described Major Tom from the Wasteland game series. He's a cat with a cowboy hat that eats cigarettes
I’m glad we got an update on Jake being a cake guy.
Happy Thanksgiving Y'all! We need more Axford DMing and Jake's DMDebut!
There is a super fun (and funny) game called Die Laughing which is exactly what Murph described - all the player characters are horror movie archetypes. It takes about 1 to 2 hours to play and would make an amazing one shot. The game can handle 7 or 8 players easily and players take turns as the director (GM) so everyone gets to play. After your character dies, you become a producer which has its own powers, so you aren’t out of the game completely. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/263554/die-laughing I played it three times at BigBadCon and it was so fun! (shout out to Karl Kreutzer for running it!)
Thanks Cake!!!!
Part of me is bummed Emily didn’t wait until Attack of the Clones comes back to theaters
Please, I need to see Murphy pumping out goblins, pissing off other players while saying, "krenko kranks" 🤣
Recently got into magic this year would love to watch some plays!
happy bananksgiving everyone 🫶🏻
a magic the gathering commander mixed bag with beardsley would be amazing!!
would love to watch yall play magic!! happy hoglidays 🦃
I love these holiday hearthside chats. I also really want to say thank you to the entire 2 Crew for everything you guys do. Campaign 1 was my first introduction to D&D, and I feel like my appreciation and enjoyment for TTRPGs has grown alongside each campaign you all have done. Immersing myself in Bahumia and Eldermourne with you incredibly charming folks has gotten me through family troubles, a pandemic, career changes, and uncertainty about the world. Thank you band of boobs for being your wonderful selves
Would love to hear yall talk more about the dnd update once yall check it out ! Like how yall did the pathfinder episode.
Murphy said in the Ask a DM live stream that since they'll be doing shorter adventures post C3, they'll no doubt do a run with the 2024 rules at some point.
YIPEEEEE
Magic live play when?!?
Emily running call of Cthulhu would be amazing!!
Major C3 spoilers here in case any of yall are waiting to binge or not caught up yet!
Ally being into magic was not on my 2024 bingo card! Delightful to hear
Tub brisket when?
Thankful for this, thankful for Medford, MA!
Idk the reference but you have committed to the bit so hard every time I see you comment
Getting a real rachel dies vibe from this title
I submitted an animorphs related question and really thought this was my time to shine
Thanks for the holiday drop. Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving.
Happy thanksgiving, yall. Hearthsides are always some of my fav 'sodes. Hope everyone is staying relaxed, warm, and holding their loved ones close :)
Working today and this has always been a difficult time. Thankful for y'all, so much
Happy Thanksgiving to the Two Crew and Naddpoles everywhere!!! Thankful for all of you! 🙏
Cat or table feels like a question they would put on an ASD test
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I hope there's no Animorphs spoilers in this. I just started book 51.
Olaf dies
thanks I'm going to ritually sacrifice a turkey to this !
Happy Hoglidays and a great Bananksgiving
First time I have ever seen the Patreon notification come up. Truly, I am thankful 🎉🙌
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I gotta work today, but at least you can keep me cozy on the bike ride there
