Rough times but hope ahead
So I don't wanna get too much into personal details but it's been pretty rough for me lately. My grandmother died very suddenly and there was a funeral which was very stressful. I also had a very scary hospital visit that lasted the whole day but thankfully everything is fine now. There's a lot of other stuff going on and on top of that the constant stress of having to read daily news about our psychotic authoritarian neighbour waging war and threatening us and everyone. (I live in Finland for those unaware) It's just been a pretty bad time all around and it causes me to mess up posting days and stuff like that.
But I'm feeling a lot better now and hopefully everything will turn out alright in the end. You get used to the uncertainty and kind of have to learn to live with it. I don't talk much about current events because I want this to be a place for people to unwind and immerse themselves in the kipworld and forget about those problems. And my work helps me in that too but sometimes it's a bit much with everything going on. That said things are looking better and I just wanted to let you guys know that while there was a rough patch at least it's gettin better now~

I am sorry to hear about the loss Kip, I know full well the pain of loss when it comes to your grandparents, so you have my deepest condolences. As far as your visit went to the hospital I'm glad there is some good news in there somewhere. Take your time friend on everything and be safe on this chaos that which is happening. I am sorry for your loss Kip, I would recommend taking all the time you need to mourn so you can properly process it. I made the mistake of not taking any time off of college when my grandmother died and I deeply regret it. I wish you all the best bro

Sorry for your loss, Kip. My grandfather died in January last year, so I can imagine what you and your family is going through. Sometimes we just take their presence in our lives for granted. The only certain thing in life is that we are all going to die, and yet we see it like such a far away thing… that when it actually happens, it almost feels like just a bad dream. Always remember how much your grandma loved and still loves you, and how much she knows you love her. At this point, the best we can do for our grandparents is to honor their journey in Earth by living OUR lives to the fullest. Was the hospital visit from your grandma or you or someone else? Please take care of your health. And yeah you are already going through a lot and now add Russia… please stay safe. If you need a break let us know and we will understand.

I can relate Kip. I lost my grandfather back in March. We were very close and now that he’s gone, I haven’t been the same. I’m still going through the grief stages but I know in time things will get better. My deep condolences to you and to your family. If you need to take a break, please do. We all would understand. Condolences, Kip! My grandparents have all passed and I remember the unique challenges and feelings in each case. Having it happen suddenly sounds quite difficult. Thanks for letting us know the sorts of things you’ve been dealing with. Not because you owe us any explanation of course! You’re literally the most reliable poster I’ve ever seen and everybody deserves a break or some inconsistency to let the work flow around other aspects of life. Not because you owe us an explanation, but because I think the community that follows your work really cares about you. Glad things are looking up. Just know that your not alone and your comics gave me something to look forward to every week after someone closed to me passed very recently. Things can be pretty heavy sometimes and losing family always throws people off, lost an uncle and grandma a few years ago. I am glad you are feeling better and stay safe!
I think noone with a clean head would say something about that, you are just a human as we are and sometimes Things are just not going right. I think we can all agree that ur personal stuff is much more important than ur Patreon.

My condolences Kip, death of a family member is always tough as hell to deal with so hope you're hanging in there And as a Scandinavian myself, the current geopolitical situation is pretty shitty, but I have hope that there's light ahead in the end of the tunnel

Hey kip your life comes first before ours no matter what so if you have to take a break to recollect yourself that's totally understandable and hey if it helps I'd say give a song called close in the distance that was made when final fantasy 14 had its last expansion that song no joke help me move beyond my mother's passing especially with the line "the sun will shine again." Definitely give it a listen if you are ever feeling down.

You... you do know you can take a break, right? We'll understand, you can take as much time off as you need.
I completely agree that they deserve a break, and we’d of course understand, but it’s a mental thing as well. It isn’t easy to allow yourself that sort of thing, when there’s people paying you every month for content (regardless if they think you deserve a break or not). Maybe they would feel like they’re imposing on the patrons. I hope not though, kip has beeen publishing comics for so long and so frequently. A break truly is in order.
