been wanting a official "the legend of zelda: ocarina of time" remastered with higher polys than the n64 since the gamecube era. now i'm glad to own a "switch 2" and gonna buy this game and play in 4k60 hdr on my lg a1 4k oled tv. yours version is very good, play a bit of the last version when you release it - when was still free. best version ever made by you.

Hi there, I followed this project since I got a glimpse of it as a Google News post about one guy recreating OOT. OOT was that one game that got me into gaming and for me it is still the best game in the world. Regarding of what was possible back the days, OOT was a milestone. Now - with the remake announced - I wondered what is going to happen to this project and here is the sad result. Thanks for putting so much love and effort into it. I always tracked the progress and I hoped that you might finish it one day. I'm wondering - if Nintendo disappoints us - if you step back from this decision :) Now looking forward about upcoming stuff. Turok oder DKR would be awesome. It might push Nintendo to work on a remake of them at last :)

I think it is a smart move to protect yourself. Sonic Adventure 2 would be kind of awesome! I will say I think, after seeing the 3DS releases.... You were doing what fans wanted and your 9 parts will always have the edge. This is my first day of sub but I watched you work for years. You're a hero to the classic lovers. Thank you for all of this work... and take my money.

A Nintendo remake that's available exclusively for Nintendo consoles and not for PC, just like yours! Please don't give up after all these years and all the hours of work you've put in.

I would say how about you step away from already made projects and work on something YOU want to do, use the inspiration of other games, you have so many supporters and I am sure there are other people in that fan base that would help you achieve that goal! Myself included. That is something I would like to see more than anything!

But, atleast your project gave people a Proof of Concept of OoT built in Unreal Engine. And what the Switch 2 Remake could look like

Plot twist, Cry is a Nintendo developer. The small vid Nintendo released looks like the stuff Cry has. To me so far looks 1 to 1.

Honestly, its cool to see Nintendo make a remake, but i still think you should release one too, never know they may see it and offer you a job or another company might because what I've seen so far, its been fantastic. Quite frankly the fan base has always been able to make better games than the actual studios anyways. Just because something looks better doesnt mean it is better.

I absolutly love your work, im so glad Nintendo is doing it but i will most definitly come back to this from time to time. Either way, is there anyway you could bundle all the parts into 1 and make like a "Young Link" oot remake game

You shouldn't just can the project because they made their own remake. You've poured alot of your soul into this, don't let this "remake" overshadow you.

I'm totally with CryZENx decision I think implementing your vision of high speed would be fun and challenging, so, Sonic Adventure 2

Honestly, Diddy Kong Racing would be the best choice, since the IP for Banjo and Conker is in the hands of Microsoft, making it less likely Nintendo would come after the project. Sonic Adventure 2 would be the worst choice though — Sega is arguably even more aggressive than Nintendo when it comes to taking down fan projects. Metroid Prime Hunters has the highest chance of getting an official remake, so I'd avoid that one too. Donkey Kong 64 sits in the middle: it depends on whether Nintendo and Rare's licensing situation can be worked around.

...time to remake Majora's Mask... lol. but if you can be moved from remake land, why not reimagine? reorganize the assets, expand their applications, create a new character and story, and just use the OOT blueprint for combat and toolset progression.

I'm glad that you're smart enough to see the risk on the horizon. Nintendo won't let you compete with their release. Maybe something less risky? Stepping away from Nintendo you could try something like "jet force gemini", "Gex", "Goldeneye" or "quest 64"

Though I'm hyped for the official remake from Nintendo, I'm also sad to see this project go unfinished. I fully understand why you step away from this but it's just a shame with how far you've come and all the great thngs you've made. I know it was planned to put what you have until now together in one single playable game. Will you still do that as a sort of closing act or will the project stay exactly as it sits here now? In terms of other projects I'd like to see I must admit that my presence here is because of my love for OoT. To me that's simply the best game ever created and I loved the fact that someone started polishing that all up to a modern standard. So the only thing I would think of would be Majora's Mask (for which you have quite some assets now already to). But I guess that Nintendo is thinking the same for their OoT project and a MM realese might just be aroudn the corner for next year or the year after. Which would end another project would you decide to start it. Anyways, thanks for the amazing work you did on your OoT version and I'm rooting for that "final" but unfinished version to come out.

Ngl it's sad that you gotta stop now and that you didn't even got recognition from Nintendo. Now with your Jabu Jabu Dungeon I doubt they would reach the same amazing Disgustingness than you did. About another Remake though, I got no Idea tbh, looking Forward to it but got no peticular wishes, since Zelda was all I played on N64 back in the days. I guess I'd vote for Metroid at this point since it is another setting of Nintendo I quite like. Another Game I'd love to see modernized though: Chrono Trigger for the SNES.

I am excited that Nintendo decided to make a remake "FInally lol" , but also sad at the same time that you will be moving to a new project as you did an amazing priceless work. However I understand how Nintendo is and how they work and hence I understand your decision. Thank you so much with all my heart. As for the next game. For me personally Sonic was one of my favorite after Link. So I would vote for Sonic Adventure 2.

Omg that's fucking epic! I'm 100% sure they finally gave in because you were getting close to going into the adult version of everything fully. I'm so happy for the past decade of supporting you, even through the cease and desist that Nintendo had done once before.

As already posted before me, have you considered not only finishing the 3 child link dungeons for OOT, but maybe......create the adult dungeons that the creators originally intended? Like the Light Temple, Fairy Temple, Wind Temple, and redo the current temples more to what was originally planned? I mean data mining of the original game found 3 other arrow types, green, orange, and purple which was theorized to be Wind, Spirit and Shadow. Just some thoughts. Definitely agree with others that Majora's Mask and Diddy Kong Racing would both be amazing to see. Would also love Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, or any of the Metroid Prime games that didn't get enough love. Overall though, I agree with some of the other posts to keep a close eye on what Nintendo does with their remake, cause they have been 50/50 recently and your work has been incredible all these years! Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see what you make next!

Even though the art style may not be identical to the upcoming remake, I'll still be looking at this project for an idea of what we have to look forward to in a couple months. Can you give us a last all in one download from this project?

Still would love to see child link/first three dungeons officially released and playable. It would be very interesting comparing to the official from Nintendo. And honestly, I think you COULD continue the OOT project on your end. We don’t know how true to the mechanics etc. the remake will be, if it’ll be a simple facelift, different puzzles, and/or different feel to combat entirely. We just don’t know yet how much creative liberty they will take. They didn’t even brand the logo as “remake” or “remaster” or give any sort of idea about it. So I think there could still be an artistic place for your game. Either way… I think your best chance to continue with large support from your fanbase is to do another Zelda game of some sort. You could try Majora’s Mask, though with the OoT remake coming I could see them hitting that as well. If you want to do something even bigger, possibly a top-down 3d remake of A Link to the Past? Or another Link’s Awakening in a modern (not cartoony) style.

I personally go Metroid Prime Hunters in the style of MP Remastered first, then Sega with SA 2 Remake, then back to DK 64 and DK Racing. My thought process is Nintendo, Sega, Nintendo, Sega, either back to back or one at a time to avoid repetition of remaking just one company's games and also avoiding potential crossover with the official remakes should they come to pass

I just hope the voice acting stays in the trailer. OoT does not need voice acting.
