A quick note…

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to share that I’m one of the creators participating in the new marketplace launching tomorrow.

Just to avoid any misunderstandings, I want to assure you that nothing about my current content or release schedule will change; patreon will continue to be my main platform and as usual, my content will continue to become free for everyone after 3 weeks.

The marketplace will simply be something occasional and additional, not a replacement.

I understand that not everyone agrees with how the marketplace was set up, and that’s completely valid. I just kindly ask that we keep things respectful.

Thank you so much for all your support. 💚

I just want to add my 2 cents - No one got mad at the Autumn Kit, the Sleek Bathroom Kit, the Glamour MakeUp Kit - all of those are made by CC Creators, who have Patreon's and charge for early access while we had to pay EA for those kits. Im uncertain how the Marketplace is any different than Creator Kits?

we are never leaving the trenches, see how sims players are coming out of the woodwork to defend EA like its a kid that needs defending. Very disappointed, but what can I expect, its the Sims 4 community.

Y'all are insane. Of course this is an EA cash grab. Of course people have the option to join. EA is a business. Did you think they were going to do this out of the goodness of their hearts? No, because they need to make money. Yes, they are greedy, but you don't have to buy anything. Obviously, the ethics aren't fantastic here, they aren't paying people to make content but they are still getting paid for the content being bought. It's not great. But it's also 100% optional. It's crazy to me that you all will get on your high horse and call an elective form of entertainment run by a game company guilty of cash-grabbing. That is how capitalism works. How dare someone who makes things for free work with a company optionally to make a little more money? It's not even about how many paid subscribers she has. She makes art, she gets to price it. Complain about something that might help the world. This is the most meaningless hill to die on.

Unfortunately your CC is making my game crash even with the new update. :(

Serenity-cc · March 21, 2026

Many people are having trouble launching the game after the latest updates. I want to make it clear that this isn’t an issue with my cc, but with the game itself. unfortunately, we’ll have to be patient and wait for the sims team to fix it soon. 🥲

L
Littl3_b1t · March 20, 2026

hello! do we know if your cc is compatible with the new updates?

CAS cc doesn’t break the game (or at least it’s very unlikely). The issues we’ve been seeing lately are related to the latest game updates unfortunately!

ouu this one hurts. most of the creators we knew about from the trailer were people i respected, but no one i followed. thisss however sucks tremendously. i've been a fan for a long time, your cc is amazing, but i just can't get behind the marketplace. "nothing will change" except it already has because it's content that even people who are already paying you will have to shell out $5 more for (of which you only make like $1.25). i really hope you'll reconsider and won't make more content for the marketplace. i'll be back downloading and sharing your cc if you decide that.

Some of yall are doing more damage than the "Greedy" & "Controversial" GAME that you dont have to play. Half the Sims 4 community didn't pay for the game nor any CC they use anyway. If you dont have nothing nice to say dont say anything AT ALL. Leave people alone!

S
Sasha Skyler · March 20, 2026

Y'all will be mad at cc creators but will still give money to the company that's the problem in the first place. EA has been paywalling for decades, nothing is new. Nothing will change unless we come together for a true revolution, until then, let small creators have a means of making money. Boycott AI, not creators making money for their hard work. Y'all are truly insane.

Honestly, I feel like everyone is overreacting majorly. She’s not stopping her content here, all of the content she makes that probably take her hours, You can pay for it if you want to early or you can wait three weeks to get it for free. She is putting in hard work and programming for free, you guys. So what if she joins the marketplace? It doesn’t mean that you have to buy her stuff on the marketplace? It’s another income which is perfectly fine because console players will buy it if they choose to everyone has free will of where they want to spend their money. Serenity has done nothing wrong. She’s still giving you free content or you can pay for it if you want it as soon as it’s released. You guys are acting so crazy.

i dont understand that people are boycotting the creators! boycott the game if you are so mad you know ! (not you :P ) i also think they should get more then 30 procent, but if this means they can have more money in these times! go for it. i will not buy from marketplace, i have instead started paying some creators here, but not supporting our lovely creators AT ALL for something EA has done is wild to me

C

Your CC is causing the game not to open...I have just skimmed through my entire CC folder to find out it's yours. Is there any way this can be fixed or do you need to know which specific cc piece is breaking it..Thanks

S
Serenity-cc · March 19, 2026

Hey there! The patch from the 17th caused some cc not to load properly, but the patch from the 18th should fix that. If you’ve already updated to the latest version or haven’t updated at all, there’s a good chance one of my files got corrupted in your folder. Unfortunately, I can’t tell which one it is since it’s a random, local issue. If you do happen to figure out which file it is, you can just redownload it from my Patreon and reinstall it. The package should work normally after that! 🥲

S

K
Keira · March 19, 2026

Let’s just stop it with the “moneys tight” lol. Patreon creators make around 90% of their tier prices. Serenity has 2.3k paid members and the only tier that even grants you early access costs you 4$ which is what majority of paid supporters are paying. EVEN IF everyone was paying the 2$ it’s still over $4k/month. Thats already a monthly income of between $4-8k a month… and then you really sold out for 30%??? Pathetic.

J
Jazzosaurous yes · March 20, 2026

It doesn’t mean you have to buy her marketplace stuff. It really has nothing to do with you. She’s still giving you free content of the stuff she makes. She doesn’t have to do that.

K
Kin Shynx · March 19, 2026

Even though I do not agree with how some of the comments addressed the subject, I do agree with many of them. I am not disappointed in you. I believe all self-decisions are important, and you must have your own reasons. I believe Patreon may not be enough to cover all the expenses you must pay, and that you thought this decision through carefully before making it. You probably stressed about our reactions, which could explain the tardy notice. I will then support you, but not with money. I truly hope it will work in your favor!!

k

Is patreon and your members who are willing to support you and give you money not enough?? Why are we working with this greedy company who doesn't care about their community and also their partners? Very disappointed. And paying for Custom Content that's FREE on this website?? Lost all respect. I will not be supporting the marketplace, EA, and any creator who stands by them.

A
Areli Hdz · March 19, 2026

???? Like you’ve never bought kits, expansions, or anything else directly from EA? It drives me crazy how hypocritical people can be, crying just because a content creator (who still gives us their creations for free) decides to sell a few kits on a marketplace platform which we are not forced to buy...

K
Kikisluv · March 18, 2026

Hi! As someone who loves your CC, I have some mixed feelings about this post. While I understand the benefit of having the marketplace for console players, I do feel that it is yet another EA cash-grab. I also wish this announcement post went up when the marketplace was first announced as opposed to the literal day before; it feels odd personally. I do wish you the best of luck with this new endeavor, but I will personally not be purchasing creator content with the marketplace

V
Venusbells · March 18, 2026

You're earning next to nothing from the marketplace while EA gets to take 70% of your earnings.... not to mention you'll lose money from the amount of people who are choosing not to support you through patreon anymore because of this. EA is a greedy company and you and other marketplace creators are just helping them get richer.

A
AbsyntheFae · March 18, 2026

As your content here is free after the set period will you be utilizing the free tab on the Marketplace. Is there a way to set a price as something for a time and after so many months and so many additional releases are they able to be set to "free" eventually?

f
fairy · March 18, 2026

As someone who has sung praises about your work and been a longtime follower, I am really disappointed to say the least. Your decision to join the EA marketplace is, in my opinion, incredibly short-sighted and foolish. From choosing to further line the pockets of a company like EA (amidst the buyout among other things) and only receiving 30% of the profits for YOUR OWN work, I simply cannot understand how one would come to this decision, especially for an already well-known and respected creator such as yourself. You show your true colors, and you will reap what you sow.

A
Ashley Hahn · March 18, 2026

I do understand your dislike of how EA is doing this, who owns EA, their profits from this, ect. I can agree but as someone who is console only, I am sooo grateful for the creators who are willing creating CC on marketplace so I can finally enhance my game with CC and not just watch YT vids of sims play- I can enjoy it for myself! I don't think hating on creators who make this decision is not right- they have their reasons. And for console people like me, I thank god they did! I am so looking forward to their CC content and I am soo hoping in the future, once this is up and going they will increase your profits as well!!!

Congratulations on contributing to the enshittification of the game... I will stop supporting your patreon as well as any other creator I support that decides to join the marketplace. Hope you're happy with your choice to become a sellout (to a company that won't even pay you as much as patreon for that matter lmao) and choose a greedy company over a loyal community.

S
SimplyPickalove · March 18, 2026

So I've read though a lot of comments and everyone has very valid points. You have a greedy company with a broken game and now bringing in creators for this new marketplace. I can see this as something good for console players but I also see this as a sad cashgrab for more money. I'm not going to hate on any creator that decides to join, if that's what you wanna do, then go for it. But let me tell you that EA does not have your best interest at heart, and they don't care about you. EA will target people that they know who will fall for their trap, because that's what it is. I do wish you luck and I hope everything works out and I will pray they don't suck the soul out of you because I believe this will end in disaster.

S
SIMMIE JADAWADA · March 17, 2026

Hi. I’m a long time follower and supporter. I wonder if you would reconsider your decision or be a bit more transparent about your decision. I’m sure you understand that the frustration of followers has less to do with content changing and more to do with us as a community finally putting our foot down. This is what communities do, stick together and advocate for real change. Would you reconsider full transparency and addressing some of the concerns?

B
Brandy Green · March 17, 2026

I think the marketplace is a good thing. Everyone doesn't play on PC or have access to custom content. This gives console players the option to experience what we experience on Patreon.

b

V
Vanessa Cruz · March 17, 2026

If this is going to remain your main platform, then why even join the marketplace? You are one of the greatest CC creators in The Sims community, and you are indulging EA in their greed. The point isn't about you being paid; you're already on Patreon. I think you should be paid; your work is fantastic, and joining this diminishes that. You're not even getting 50% of the money your content is making EA from the marketplace. You aren't even getting publicity from this, losing mass long-time supporters for 30% is NOT worth it... Instead of giving in, all these CC creators should have pushed back on this. This proves you all can work together, so why lean into EA? All new players who don't know about CC will be suckered into giving EA more and more money when all the packs already amount to $1,500 and counting. This is honestly very sad and disappointing to watch. I hope you take the feedback well and reconsider. -Long time supporter <3

For everyone raging, complaining, insulting, etc. any creator who has decided to be a part of the marketplace, I think it'll also be a good idea to let EA know your grievances as well. This doesn't all fall on the creators. It's not their responsibility to do what EA should have/should be doing. At the end of the day, it's ultimately up to everyone to decide how they'd like to continue moving forward with The Sims 4. So, if you don't support what EA is doing, you have options: boycott, uninstall the game, etc., because not supporting the creators yet refusing to unplug from the game doesn't make you any better than the creators you're criticizing.

K
Katharina · March 17, 2026

K
Katharina · March 17, 2026

m
martha Rivera · March 17, 2026

Honestly I appreciate you posting this but the timing is a problem for me and I can't just let that go. If you genuinely wanted to be transparent with your community, this conversation should have happened the moment EA announced the marketplace, not the day before it launches. We've been in an uproar for days, dealing with a broken game, and this is when we're hearing about your involvement? That's not transparency, that's damage control, and I think deep down you know that. Again, nothing against you personally because I do respect your work. But you knew about this the whole time and stayed quiet while the community was losing it. That matters. And beyond that, the marketplace itself is just indefensible to me. $5 for 8 items? $3 for light switches? I'm sorry but that is genuinely unhinged pricing. The CC community has spent years proving that amazing content doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, and EA is now trying to make us act like this is normal. It isn't. But what really gets me is that EA explicitly said there would be no permanent paywall, and yet here we are. That IS a permanent paywall. You pay or you don't get it, full stop. There is no free release after a few weeks, there is no community access, it lives behind that price tag forever. So not only is the pricing predatory but they flat out lied about what this would be, and participating in it means lending your credibility to something built on a broken promise to this community. Participating in it, even occasionally, even with good intentions, still puts your stamp of approval on a system designed to squeeze money out of a community that built itself on generosity. And let's not forget that all of this is happening while CAS CC, build/buy CC and mods are broken for a massive portion of players. EA pushed this monetization platform on top of a community that is currently on fire and couldn't be bothered to fix anything first. The audacity of that is honestly breathtaking. I wish you nothing but the best genuinely, but I won't be supporting the marketplace or anyone participating in it until EA does a serious rethink of what they're pulling here. 💚

Just a reminder that CC is never "free." Creators have to spend time, energy, and resources to make it, and still need to pay the bills. If you get it "free," it's because someone else paid for it, probably the creator you are criticizing. So please be kind to them as they make the choices the need to make for themselves.

A
Amerie · March 17, 2026

You probably haven't been in the community a long time because CC did start out as free AND a lot continues to be free. The community was truly peaceful and there was no greed in its beginnings (except when people were doing the whole adfly thing, which a lot in the community pushed back against). It was only until a couple of people started to move to Patreon that it has created the monster that it is today. It started as greed and continues to be about greed. You are framing this about how they need to pay the bills like they work a 9-5 but it is solely their decision to make this into a business. They can put their time, energy, and resources into it but that doesn't mean they are automatically owed to be paid for it. Hardly any paid CC creator cares about the community (including Serenity).

So youre still gonna have early access AND join the marketplace? How greedy can one be?

S
Snow Flake · March 18, 2026

I have some questions. Why can't console players have cc for free or on early access via the marketplace, like on Patreon, with a fairer share going to the creator? Why should console players pay 3 USD for smth like light switches, of 2.5 USD for a few lipsticks? Why can't they still have the same cc as PC players, but special packs have to be created for that? Testing cc is BS imo, bc the community has already playtested all that previous cc. Just let the creators upload their already existing content on Moola for free, compare files' checksums automatically. Let people buying cc from the marketplace contact the creators and not EA about the mods if they have any questions or problems with it. Just be more democratic about the whole process. Couldn't be worse than what they did with the current patch lol. Just imagine: their testers have not properly tested the official patch!!! And you expect them to thoroughly test creators' uploads? xD Everyone knows that the creators from the community are more responsible than the actual company employees. They could have just given the creators the platform without taking 70% from them God knows what for lmao.

A
Amerie · March 17, 2026

I don't think anybody was worried about content changing but rather the issue is supporting this marketplace because it harms our community, amongst other criticisms. I very much respect those CC creators who have stood up and declined, along with others who have said they won't support it and giving honest explanations, but it's pretty disappointing to see someone like you, who's been in the community for a long while, to participate in this. I understand many CC creators aren't really involved in the community itself, more just acting like a business, but you didn't really feel the need to explain anything about your position? No transparency? No pointing out about the problem the community has with it? Idk it's kinda crazy to me to stay silent and then all of a sudden say you're participating in it and not even talking to those who support you about it.

L
Luna · March 17, 2026

Isn’t it supposed to be there for console players since they can’t get cc? It seems really unfair to console players that they can get the same experience, and people rudely telling them that they need to get a computer. I’ve seen that opinion many times in the community, since it’s so toxic. Like people complaining about kits, which can be great for console players.

N
Nicolina Darwood · March 17, 2026

I hate the way EA is operating but understand that you and many other creators have been doing this for us for years without even asking for a dime (and even when yall do it's like under $10) So it's nothing against creators like you, be sus you guys definitely deserve to get smth for your creations. I wish you would be getting everything you deserve instead of whatever EA decides to Give. The idea now that it's available for console players is great, I just wish the system wasn't corrupt. But to say I'm not supporting you is just dumb. I do not wish to use the market place at any time. But I won't stop supporting someone just because they decided to. Unfortunately there are things in this world that we like and don't like but sometimes have to do to get by. There are bigger issues to boycott. Thanks for sharing with us.

A
AntiquatedSimmer · March 17, 2026

Respectfully, supporting the EA marketplace and choosing to participate supports a system that in the long run will effect everyone negatively. EA is taking advantage of creators by claiming 70% and while you might be making a sliver of earnings, ultimately you are supporting a corrupt system that is making everyone life harder. Very disappointing, I wish u the best of luck but I will no longer be a supporter.

Nova Grayson · March 17, 2026

I appreciate the clarification, but I want to be honest about why this announcement feels extremely disappointing. Not only to myself but I would assume a host of others who have said something or are afraid to say anything for fear they are kicked off a bandwagon so to speak. Many creators — including those participating in the marketplace AND those not participating — communicated their decisions early, clearly, and transparently. That gave their communities time to process, ask questions, and decide how they wanted to move forward. This is the part where you need to understand that we do love you and respect the work you do. I just wish I wasn't paycheck to paycheck so I could afford to finanically support you and the rest of my Top 10. This is the part where we can love you but side eye your words vs your actions. Announcing participation the night before the patch, after weeks of public discussion and concern, reads less like transparency and more like damage control. It puts your supporters in a position where it feels like the timing was chosen to minimize backlash rather than foster trust. You 100% have every right to participate in the marketplace, and I respect that. But as a long‑time supporter, I also think it’s fair to say that the timing of this announcement undermines the trust and openness that many of us value in creator–community relationships.

L
Les Seifer · March 17, 2026

Maybe it’s for the fear of what the reaction would be like from players like you with strong opinions about this and those who see things more black and white than you who’d be more ready to attack. At this point the base of the sims community notoriously seems to love creating pariahs out of people with little to no nuance for understanding anything other than what they deem the highest moral standards. From what has been seen so far, it seems that creators had to make their choices in private, months upon months ago, without knowing who else was joining. No matter how Serenity feels about this now, there’s no changing what’s already been done and no accounting for how drastically worse the EA/sims situation has become recently, so I think it’s best to give our fullest understanding and benefit of the doubt. At the end of the day these are independent creators who we respect and appreciate on their own accord, and we really don’t have the high horse to be able to judge them for their own decisions. Not even a year ago an official partnership (that would ideally be less microtransactiony) would have been a wonderful recognition and opportunity for the creator, so that’s what I’m treating it as now.

I'm sad you're getting critical messages here. 😢 There are legit reasons to be part of the Maker program, as flawed as it is. Fans withdrawing financial support from creators now only makes it MORE beneficial for them to be part of EA's program, not less. Since I'm old and have the income, I protested EA by supporting a bunch more creators. I hope anyone who can does the same.

I thinks its because EA is getting the majority of the money from the sale. Not only that but I'd 1000 times over rather pay for someone's patreon then give any money to EA 😭😭

I adore your content but this is just so disappointing, I dont want to come off as rude by any means but choosing to do this is just giving money and free content to an already horrifically greedy cooperation, its a bit disheartening in all honesty :(

Fam, two things can be true. We can be against the marketplace as well as respect cc creators decisions to be on it. While I won't use the marketplace, I still will support cc creators that choose to be on it ❤️

Although I can understand your choice, I have to admit I am disappointed in this. I never thought your content would change nor that you'd stop posting here, that was never a worry. My slight wavier in this is due to the fact you waited till the evening prior to announce your attachment to the project while releasing content in the meantime. It feels...icky. I can understand your choice and appreciate the transparency, but to wait this long simply does not sit right with me while still releasing content perceiving to us followers that you are not part of the program. Along with that, I have to agree with Gavin with saying a lot of creators do not support the buyout or moral behind it, but partake in this marketplace. I'm all for getting paid and earning your rightful money, but this doesn't sit well with me. The Sims is still part of EA, no matter how much you separate the two. I don't mean any malicious or mean intent with my words as I do admire your content, it is just very disheartening.

While this might be true, I think it’s important to remember that the same Saudi Arabian entity that’s buying out EA now owned 1/5 of the company long, long before the public heard about this deal. The sims being a part of EA should always have been a problem, but just like everything else on this earth it only becomes a worthwhile problem once it gets press and creates a cycle of outrage. At some point personal responsibility can only go so far in a world of late stage capitalism and corporate greed, and unless we find ourselves ready to give up every modern comfort and personal pleasure, we should take a more measured look at what we actually achieve towards bettering our world and how. I personally don’t find that a wonderful creator finally being able to get recognition from the game they made such great CC for for a long time is one of those things worthy of getting disheartened. Not to say that EA is even remotely a good company, but holding small creators and the team at maxis accountable for its actions and the resulting sh!tshow does nothing besides dishearten literally everyone involved, excluding EA itself. I’m sure Serenity wasn’t looking forward to posting this earlier, much less at all, with how the sims community currently feels about all this, as seen by all the disappointment expressed in these comments.

This is disappointing ngl, at the end of the day your work will be putting money straight into EA’s pockets and after the buyout situation I can’t pretend it’s ok. I don’t mean to rude or anything, I do love your cc and appreciate all the work you do on here but I hate marketplace as a whole and it’s just frustrating

I mean get that bag. EA makes tons of money might as well get some of it.

I understand your view point completely. It’s just disappointing. Especially with everything going on with ea- and now that the buyout is gone through. It feels like a slap in the face. Especially from all of the content creators who say they don’t support the buyout or the moral behind it- but then work for and with the exact thing you are so against. It’s hypocritical. I’m sorry you have been put in this position. The last thing I want to do is send hate towards an incredible artist like yourself- I just truly did not see this coming.

Quick question though, will you be putting old cc on the marketplace or is it going to be entirely new stuff?

S
Serenity-cc · March 17, 2026

From the marketplace’s own guidelines, the content has to be entirely new! 🙂
