Heat Rating Explained
In my previous post, I said that 'power rating' was not working properly, I was wrong! Its actually called 'Heat Rating'. Not only does it work, but its even better than how I'd described before!
In short, the heat rating is the accumulated values of all heat-producting parts of the entire robot. A higher value doesn't neccisarily mean the robot is stronger, it just tells you that the robot produces more heat!
In the original draft of Smashdolls, power rating was simply accumulated HP values.
The intention was to use power rating to determine the overall strength/tier of equipment, much like how it works in Darktide to help players visualise how strong different robots are when creating loadouts.
But thanks to the intuition of our programmer, (JC) the power rating instead displays how power/heat-hungry the robot is instead., which is also an indication of the robot's fighting output.
In Smashdolls, JC devised a mathmatical fomula that calculates the heat output of each part, based on accuracy, its damage and wether it has any extra benefits, this is used to calculate the 'heat rating' of the entire robot. We'll eventually add a heat rating to each part.

Doesn't take long for me to get them all heated and bothered.
