Mommy Peach- Class of 2007

Don’t let the yearbook smile and the “good girl” circle fool you.

This is Peach’s mom the week they took senior portraits. Straight A’s, top of her class, teachers’ favorite, the one nobody ever had to worry about. Hair up in that messy bun, freckles, gold hoop, off-shoulder top already slipping… she looked like the perfect student.

A few weeks after this photo was taken she was pregnant with Peach.

Still sitting in the front row, still turning in perfect papers, still smiling like nothing had changed while her body was already starting to. The girl everyone thought was too smart, too put-together, too “not that type” ended up carrying her daughter through the rest of senior year.

You can see it in the eyes if you look close enough. The one who had it all figured out… until she didn’t. And Peach has been paying the price (and the benefits) ever since.
