Testers and proofreader are working very hard, and thus the wait for episode 8 is almost over.
The Patreon release dates for Episode 8 - Crossroads are as follows:
+$25 tiers: Friday, November 19 (Huge DIK tier and tiers above it)
+$10 tiers: Monday, November 22 (DIK tier or Major DIK tier)
$5 tier: Friday, December 3 (Limited time, and only if you pledged at least $15 total during 2021.)
The estimated download size is 19.5 GB. So, be sure that you have at least 40 GB of disk space to extract the files.

OMG, I played from the beginning, and how I savored this new release! Love ALL of it, the changes and possibilities, just the right amount of intimacy, intrigue and cliffhanger at the end. A great episode and an amazing season. What I loved the most were the soundtracks, and they were perfectly selected for each individual moment of the game. As they say, I came for f4pping but left with a great and emotional story. Thank you for such a beautiful game, Dr. PC!
that moment when sitting on the crown started playing, with the setting and writing....that fucking shit was EPIC. So many great tracks, such awesome audio timings, mixed with writing....DPC went beast mode.
No spoilers but by the gods. DPC. The music you've provided is FIREEEEEEEE!!!!!!! Yet some tracks blew my expectation away! Some resonated with the days of my college depression etc but it was amazing! HATS off zu mein König! You really nailed it beyond as always. I've been around for awhile now so I have a little say for the community I hope; we thank-you dearly for what you have provided us. An experience that we could re-live or had desired when we didn't expect it.

To anyone having issues with Mega...It is unfortunately a pretty average system and the payment options right now are either down or just flat out not working - has been an ongoing issue that you can read about online if interested. That said, you can get around this by downloading the Mega app to your phone and either paying with Apple Pay or Google pay to get around their flawed system...just bare in mind it will ask for access to your files on your phone, if you say yes to that, it will start downloading all your phone files which will get in the way of your download of Being a DIK!
Just remember to go into your Apple Pay or Google ay settings after the download has finished (confirm you have it first) and cancel membership...it will sign you up to a sub and there is no way around this...it is a pain, but hopefully worth it...hope this helps someone as all other download options are taking upwards of 8 hours! (13 hours for me last I checked!)
I hope there is NEVER an ending to this storyline... Sometimes the journey from A to B is more enjoyable than the ending...

I am so hyped right now! To be honest, most games lately have not been this joyfull as Being a Dik! Not just the sex and stuff but the storyline in whole. I feel like one in the gang. Exactly how a game should feel. Most new games that are a produced from a big company like EA are usualy souless and boring and have made me stop hyping. This is worth every penny!
The storyline itself makes you play the game all over again, even if you have unlocked everything in the current content. There are so many little nuances that can change a whole walkthrough.

New/Full game. DPC has upgraded the game from 32bit to 64bit, which means the patch updating process won't work for this release.

This has been asked and answered multiple times in the comments. It'll be released when DPC is fully ready to release it. Everyone has got to do a better job reading before asking repeat questions. If it's annoying to see this question asked over and over as an observer, it has to be worse for DPC to have to answer it over and over. Plus, each minute he spends answering the same questions is another minute wasted not readying the release.
Everyone give a big round of applause to the good doctor for all his amazing work, updates, and taking time to answer everyones questions to deliver the best damn release he can. Truly awesome work Doc. Looking forward to seeing what you spent so much time and hard work on this time.
DPC seems like a down to earth kind of guy. He's also a hard worker, and has tons of passion for what he does, and a dev that keeps us all in the loop. Fucking awesome job. Sometimes I am surprised that DPC doesn't completely flip his shit though. I don't have anywhere the level of patience that he does.

As we all know DPC works by themselves (as far as story, animation, coding ect.) with a select group of people who do additional proofreading, and beta testing only after DPC has tested each episode and is sure it's stable enough to move past its (pre-alpha ???) stage. For patrons who are interested in all things Badik one of the best sources of information is the discord server under the membership tab (bear in mind exact times and dates in all forms of communication are on an "as soon as it's ready" basis) DPC as far as I can tell from my many discussions on discord with the Badik community is UTC/GMT +1 but DPC has to upload WIN/LINUX/MAC versions of the complete game Episodes 1-8 (for those who do not know it's a fresh install since it's run on an updated version of Ren'py...saves will still carry over from the end of episode 7 save game here splash screen) to multiple hosting sites. Has to download install several times and ensure the hosting sites are stable and no packets are lost, all singlehandedly. A massive undertaking for a small team but astronomical for a single person. I'm as excited as the next person but I would rather a successful launch then forcing a timetable on DPC and having something fall through the cracks.
Think of your fans in asia, doc. I would suggest posting dl links at midnight of japanese time ;)

I don' want to speak for DPC, but typically the download links are not available right at midnight. Episode 7 became available around like 1:15am I believe. DPC isn't American so his timing on posts and episode releases isn't based on EST as far as I can tell.

Don't touch them. It's automatic.

So should we have version 0.7 and version 0.8 downloaded at the same time(meaning having 0.7 previously downloaded) to make sure that our saves transfer over to the 0.8 version through the app data folder?
Save transfer will be automatic if you played on that PC before. But let's say you try to load a game in v080 and it doesn't work, because you saved at a different spot than the end of the episode. What you can do to fix it is to load it in v072 and play a bit longer to a different scene and save again. This save might work in v080. You only need v072 to fix your botched saves, after you see that every save you want works, you can remove that old version if you want.
I almost don't want to play this episode becuase i know i'll finish it in less than two days and then i am going to have to wait ages for the next episode. Looking forward to it DrP
That is exactly how I am when all the new episodes of my favorites come out. It's excitement followed by self-loathing because I have no self-control. I just sit go through it all and then I am left feeling sorry for myself. LOL Enjoy though.

Download, extract, play. Saves will transfer automatically if you played on the same PC before.

Life has taught me that there is always a chance I'm wrong, but I think you're correct. The new episodes usually can be downloaded whole game or patched depending on tier. Because of the engine upgrade the whole game must to be downloaded.
OK. So just so I'm clear, seasone 1 is episodes 1-7 or 1-8? And how many episodes is season 2? Also, is all of season 2 dropping or just the first episode? Sorry, I support multiple dev's and these kinds of things easily confuse me.
I believe it's season 1 episodes 1-4 and season 2 is episodes 5-8

They will load automatically. They are stored in an AppData folder on your PC.
Quick question sorry if i missed it if you said already, but when we download the full game 8.0 do we need to delete the old version or will the new one just override the old files?
If you can, I would keep the old version for a while. The reason is that you can fix any saves that don't work on it. All saves at the end of the episodes will work with v0.8.0, but if you for any reason chose to save at another spot, they might not work. And you can fix that by loading the save in let's say v0.7.2 and save at another spot, then load that save in v0.8.0, to pop it back into gear. That said, don't merge the folders or anything this time. Keep v0.8.0 clean and don't add any files at all to it.
