Episode 5 - Release day announcement
Beta testing and proofreading have been going well. The team has been working hard to further polish the game.
Right now, I feel the game is in a state that is polished enough for a public release.
I still need to make a final build and do some final preparations, but I'm really happy to be able to announce the release dates for:
Episode 5 - HOTheaded
+$25 tiers - Friday, May 29
+$10 tiers - Monday, June 1
+$5 tiers - Friday, June 12 (Patch only, need v0.4.0/v0.4.1/v0.4.2 base game)
And a third and final time, I like to remind those of you who want to patch the game to download a clean copy of the game before Friday. Servers are going to be very busy as many want to download the game at once. You will save yourself some waiting time by preparing early for the release.
Here is the link to the latest version (v0.4.2) that you can patch to v0.5.0 on Friday.
Or you can download the entire game all at once (~8.3GB).

I found a few others, the ones that I remember right now are: when you tell Riona that she's cute (on Rooster), one of her replys says "and everyone one else too, jeez", that extra "one" shouldn't be there; the other one happens talking to Bella in the kitchen she says, "Go any join Jill..." should say anD, no anY.
Dont know where you like typos/errors to be shared: ROOSTER update after encounter w/ Jocks at at beginning of Ep5. NICK bio "Nick like that you fought Caleb." All other comments have been written in 1st person so this one stands out as odd.
From what ive gathered from my calculations....its a HIGH chance Pink drops the guide this week friday for the $15 teir. Then after he's gonna let us fully enjoy the game by making us go back and do different play through with the guide and while we are all busy trying to get our best route ready for ep6, he's gonna take a break (cause he deserves it) then the following week its back to work. So depending on how he wants ep6 to play out...the wait time could be less than 5. He did say that ep5 was more than what he expected it to be but it had to be in. So possibility we could see the same wait time if not less, so maybe 2nd to last week of August. Lets hope my calculations are correct. But then again we want ep6 to be juicy too 🤔 hmm so i see, this is going to be very conflicting. But i dont mind doing a t h i c c wait...its gonna hurt but i wait Pink man. SUPRISE ME!!

Hi, I am new patreon and I am confused. As a +$5 tier, I need to have old version 0.4.2 to apply patch to 5, but the link in description leeds to new release with version 5. Will it change on friday? Or I am screwed and has to pay 10 tier now to get full version for later patches?
Hi! It's a tricky system and it's because of the Steam release, which doesn't let me release Season 1 for less than the $10 tier. So, if you pledge $10 once and get the game starting now (v0.5.0), you can pledge the $5 tier for future content and patch the game. If you don't have v0.4.0/0.4.1/0.4.2 right now, that's the option you have to start with the patreon version. Let me know if something is unclear. Cheers

Am I missing something or has DPC not put up the walkthrough yet for episode 5? Have walkthroughs been done yet for 1-4?
Haven't had time for it. Release was first priority and I think most patrons wouldn't want to wait for me to write a walkthrough before the episode is released. I'm working as fast as I can, but walkthroughs will always be released after episodes since I want to bring you the game as fast as possible.

I first found this game and played it on Steam. Liked the game so much I became a Patreon. Did not realize, however, that buying the game on Steam means not being able to patch the new update and having to wait for a year. Not gonna do that so I will have to play the whole Patreon version over again. Live and learn - no more Steam I guess.
I understand that frustration. Patreon is the platform that funds the game and keeps me employed full-time doing this; that's why this is the way I choose to develop the game.

Is the best way to play this game with 3 saves? Neutral, dik, and chick? My saves are a mess. Getting all the scenes last time was a pain. I wanna clean up my approach lol
Im playing chick for Isabela and Jill when staying with Isabela then neutral for Josy, Maya combo and Envy in background when staying with Derek and dik for the rest girls Sage Quinn etc. staying with Sage ..It looks like envy is better for dik but then you should go another route to stay in with Derek .. I might be wrong but thats my way :)

Hello DrPinkCake. As like many of us I'm looking forward to the new release. I have the 4.2 version. I'm just asking is there anything we need to do if we just download the new episode?
He'll have instructions inside the zip file with the patch. If it's like the 0.4.2 patch, you'll just unzip the patch files into the BeingADik\game folder and overwrite files in there by the same name and that's it.

As has been previously stated, steam version saves are not compatible with Patreon version game. Unfortunately, if you choose to stick with the steam version, you will have to wait until the entire Season 2 is complete and released as DLC. The soon to be released update (only the first episode of Season 2) is for the Patreon version only.

I hate that Riona seems to be pulled along for the ride. To me she seems reluctant and rarely questions Quinn unless overwhelmed. I'm hoping we get to interact with Riona more.

if you could perhaps make a post detailing how to do it and which files to fuck around with, and how to find those files, that'd be amazing.
He usually writes pretty good instructions, so don't worry. If you get really stuck, just post a response to the patch post and we'll help you out, no worries. For the v0.4.2 patch he had a nice video in there, too, it's a piece of cake - you literally just copy the zipped files of the patch into the beingadik\game folder overwriting any files of the same name.
I don't know if I speak for anyone else here but I'm going to need a much more in depth explanation on how to "patch" my game. I have the patreon version.

Hi - I just downloaded the version here. Previously, in the steam version I could hit "G" to activate the guide. Is that possible with this version at all?
As far as I know, the guide overlay is only accessible that way on the Steam version. The Patreon one has a separate PDF file. But I might be wrong.

If the version you have is 0.4.2, and its unmodified, you can patch it. From what I understand, patching instructions will be provided with the update.

No, Steam and Patreon versions need a separate set of saves.
I'd rather download da whole game all at once. Sync saves at start up. Then delete the old game... That is if this version does not have game breaking bugs when i replay it from the start.
Whatever floats your boat. The result of patching the game, if done correctly, will yield an identical version as the full download.
