Tier changes, 20000 patrons, and more information
Phew...
Today is a big day. Season 3 will be released on Steam and GOG in roughly 3 hours from now. (Yes, GOG too. They gave me the go-ahead yesterday. In case you're wondering why it doesn't say any release date on GOG yet.)
Since it's also September 1st, I have implemented the changes I announced multiple times on my Patreon page. I make these changes because I have to, and I've tried my best to keep their impact on you guys as minimal as possible.
During August, together you helped me reach a new milestone on Patreon. 20,000 patrons!
And that's insane. You humble me, and ironically, I - the writer - lack words to describe how that makes me feel and how thankful I am. This milestone will be celebrated soon, when things start to calm down on my end. It's been a hectic month, and with the Steam/GOG release, it's about to get a bit more stressful for another week or two.
So, let's get into everything I want to share with you guys today. There will be loads of text and information that you might not be interested in. If that's the case, skip to the end for some more fun news.
Subscription billing
My Patreon page has now switched to Subscription billing. This means you'll be billed the day you sign up for my Patreon page, and then a month later, you'll be billed again on the same date. For all of you who're already patrons when reading this, you should expect to get billed on the 1st of every month - so nothing really changes for you. But it's useful to know this in the future, in case you take a break from your subscription.
If you're subscribed to me through the iOS app, please know that you can get your subscription much cheaper if you sign up on the website, since Apple charges a ridiculous platform fee.
Tier changes
The following tier changes have been made today. First, I'll list them, then I'll describe the most important changes in a TLDR (too lazy; didn't read) section.
Mini DIK tier ($1)
Added: Occasional wallpapers and patron rewards
Mini DIK tier ($5)
Removed: Access to new updates (Season 3) 2 weeks after Early access release. NOTE! PATCH ONLY. You need the base Patreon game from the DIK tier the first time.
Removed: Access to new patches of Season 1 and Season 2.NOTE! PATCH ONLY. You need the base Patreon game (v0.8.0 or higher), from the Huge DIK tier, the first time.
Added: Access to new updates (Season 4) 2 weeks after Early access release. NOTE! PATCH ONLY. You need the base Patreon game from the DIK tier the first time.
Added: Access to new patches of Seasons 1-3.NOTE! PATCH ONLY. You need the base Patreon game (S1/2 v0.8.0, S3 v0.12.0, or higher), the first time.
DIK tier ($10)
Removed: Access to new updates (Season 3) 3 days after Early access release.
Added: Access to new updates (Season 4) 3 days after Early access release.
Major DIK tier ($15)
Removed: Access to new updates (Season 3) 3 days after Early access release.
Removed: Access to "Being a DIK: The complete official guide"
Added: Access to new updates (Season 4) 3 days after Early access release.
Added: Access to "Being a DIK: The complete official guide - Seasons 1-3"
Added: Access to "Being a DIK: The complete official guide - Season 4 (For the current Season 4 version)"
Huge DIK tier ($25)
Removed: Being a DIK - Season 1 and Season 2 (Complete, Ep 1-8)
Removed: Early access, access to the game (Season 3) as soon as possible.
Added: Being a DIK - Season 3 (Complete, Ep Interlude + 9-12)
Added: Early access! Access to the game (Season 4) as soon as possible.
Massive DIK tier ($30)
Removed: Have your name appear in the credits for Season 3. Currently unavailable
Added: Have your name appear in the final credits of Being a DIK (Season 4).

Added: Being a DIK - Season 1 and Season 2 (Complete, Ep 1-8) $25
TLDR on the Tier Changes
Basically, Season 4 will be released the same way Season 3 was on Patreon. 3 days of early access for the Huge DIK tier and above, then the DIK and Major DIK tiers get access to the full version. 2 weeks after release, a patch version will be available for the Mini DIK tier.
Being a DIK Season 3 is moved to the $25 tier to reflect the price it's being sold for on Steam/GOG. You also get the guides from the $15 tier for Seasons 1-3, like before. And the Season 4 guide will be there in the future too.
Being a DIK Seasons 1-2 are now in a $25 product post in the Shop tab on my page. You purchase it once and get access to it and any future updates. You don't have to stay subscribed to access it. Buy once for access that lasts until my Patreon page is gone (hopefully not for a very long time).
Future patches for all game versions (Seasons 1-4) will be available in the $5 tier.

Credits section of Season 4
I just posted a credits section for Season 4, which will be the game's last season. If you put your name on that post, you will appear in the credits of Season 4 and also be included in the final credits section of the game - for which I have some special plans.

20,000 Patrons Milestone Celebration
To celebrate 20,000 patrons, I want to host another art day with the community. For those of you who weren't there the first time I hosted Art Day:
Art Day is a Discord event where I will create art based on community requests. I will work together with you guys to create wallpapers and renders of almost anything (Server rules and Terms of Service always apply). During the day, there will be polls that decide what art I'm making next. And I'll show off the work in progress in chat during the day. It was a very active and fun day for the community last time.
All the art I make during Art Day will be made available for all tiers after Art Day is completed, and the art may even appear in Season 4. These are examples of the art made during last Art Day:

Only this time, I'm thinking of turning Art Day into 2 consecutive days instead of 1. I ended up working 20 hours straight last time, and I'd like this time to be a bit less stressful while still making sure I have time to create what you guys want to see.
So, I guess Art Days is what we're going for. More information about when this event will take place in the near future.

A short break
With everything that's been going on lately, it's safe to say it's been, and still is, one of the most stressful periods for me. I feel like I need and have deserved a little break before I start full-time work on Season 4. So, after the Steam/GOG release has settled down, I will take a week or two off from work before returning in full force. Just to recharge my batteries, reflect a bit, and celebrate before starting work on the final Season. I'll let you know when I take some time off.

Subbed to your patreon to say congrats and thank you! I bought and played the vn for the first time way back in 2022 and I was blown away. Easily sunk 30 something hours into it. Adult romance visual novels that genuinely have a good narrative and good writing is unfortunately very uncommon. After playing your game way back then, I was on this high and I searched for vn after vn on steam and anywhere else and I never could find a game that I felt was up to par with this one. It's just so different, and clever, hilarious- and there is evidently just so much love and care put into it. I waited four years for season 3's full release. I didn't want access here on patreon because I just wanted to be patient and wait for the complete experience. Thank you so so so much for all your hardwork, and please enjoy a good long break. Frankly, two weeks sounds too short to me..

You have until Season 4 is completed to submit it. So it will be quite a while and I will remind people before I close that post in the future.

I just downloaded the Season 3 on Steam and realized I only have two old saves to import. I better get cracking on Season 1 and 2 this weekend. I love the added achievements on Steam as well. 20 000 Patrons is crazy and a rare achievement in this genre. But it's not surprising that it's reached by someone so "oldschool", who's been consistently supplying us with high quality entertainment over the years, making us laugh, cry and *feel* all sorts of things - sometimes all together!
