Everything is all right

This is a re-edit of an old video for the now-near-compulsory 'short' format.  Why can mobile telephone users not turn their devices the right way up?  I don't know.  Why am I bothering with these 'short' things at all?  Because YouTube has made it clear to creators that we either contribute to the war against TikTok by making lots of shorts, or else we will drop off the algorithm.  YouTube is my employer, and has a gun to my head, so here we are.  I have not charged you.  That would be a brazen cheek.

Emergency video to be played in time of crisis (YouTube)

It's not about being short. Or about being vertical. Those I can live with. It's the player that does not let you rewind, does not hide the controls and instead of useful things like "description" or "comments" scrolling down gives you next, random video. Last straw is promoting shorts as something better instead of letting people choose. That's why I boycott them and why I will not watch your shorts Lindy. If you make shorts for YouTube algorithm, you make them for new people. Patreon supporters are your regular viewers who like your format which is far from short.

"Why can mobile telephone users not turn their devices the right way up? I don't know." Tik-Tok is brilliant marketing. "What do we know about kids today that we can turn into a social media site?" "They have the attention span of goldfish and don't know how to hold their phones?" "Brilliant!"

This video was worth a repost.

I was about to ask how exactly YouTube pressures creators to create Shorts anyway, so it's good that you answered me before I got around to it. Much obliged, Lloyd. <3

I actually just watched this video again a couple weeks ago to help me through something. I kind of like the idea of republishing it so newer subscribers can see it.
