One third of humanity's past in one video (plus a piss-take of unboxing videos)
At flipping last!
So sorry for the massive delay. This video ran into several problems.
My new camera was a bit awkward and I had to reshoot half of it. This is the first video with my new kit. Does the new mic sound any better? I hope it does. You paid for it, and the new camera, so thanks for those.
It overran horribly. I thought of three points to make and a gag with product placement, but I digressed and digressed, and then couldn't cut it into three separate videos because of the gag (plus sponsor).
The sponsor company was difficult to persuade that this advert was what it wanted.
The massive file strained my computer equipment a bit.
But it is here, in all its ever-so-long glory.
I will think long and hard before ever accepting a product-placement video again. At first I was reluctant, but was persuaded. I hope it is relevant enough and amusing enough.

Lindy my grandma had a high bed like that and she used to sleep not totally flat but had this upright position you talked about. I remember talking to her about it one time and she told me that the only time she is seen laying flat on the bed is when she will be dead, so I think at least in Poland or the slavic countries it was associated with being dead, so you dont want to be totally flat on your bed since that was equated with DEATH.
Just FYI Lloyd, I think I noticed a bit of audio sync issues. It looks like the video may be a few frames behind the audio. Also, locking the focus (or turning autofocus off) while you're speaking may keep the camera from randomly blurring. Better lighting would allow you to 'stop up' aperture (make it smaller) and extend thus the depth of field.
I am standing quite close to two very bright lights. The shallower depth of field is caused by the pro camera's larger sensor, and give the picture that pro-look. The camera is supposed to focus on my face, but it keeps losing track of my face, and then annoyingly, rather than focus on the thing in front of it (me) or just staying still, it changes focus! I am experimenting with a remote control in the hope that this will help. I could just try with face recognition turned off, but that might mean that every time I gesticulate, it focusses on my hands. What I really need is a cameraman.
Very nice, yes, very nice, but, (you had to expect the "but,') you did not take the mattress out of the vacuum packaging! I didn’t get to see I spring into shape! The meat and potatoes of the program was very well done.
Well, the joke was that as soon as I had the 'unboxing' done, I could focus on the box.
Well done Lloyd, for an ad placement as blatant as that, it was extremely entertaining and not ad dominated. Your gags took the attention away from the ad and made it more like a LB vid featuring some casper mattresses rather than an ad for casper framed in a lindybeige video. I actually considered checking out the mattress site. Great historical content too!
Huzza! Mission accomplished if that's the way you feel.
I've been pondering about sending you something, but you'd have to unbox in exito-vision.
On a fire escape at night during a fist fight?
