For a free holiday, would you kill a butterfly?
One last one for the year. Not New Year-themed, though.

When I was a young boy I tried to be a butterfly collector. I found it pretty boring after a week or so but the butterflies might have found it even more boring. You see, I had read that you had to kill them with chemicals to maintain its beauty so i drowned them in aceton and then impailed them with my mothers sewing nails onto a pinboard. And no, no one has ever given me a free holiday.
There is no justice!
If it's not an extremely endangered species, yes, I would.
Fortunately, the butterfly pictured in the crosshairs is already dead. At least according to https://emilydamstra.com/news/please-enough-dead-butterflies/
Handy knowledge. The dead ones are a prettier shape, mind.
If the butterfly can sense pain input from its wings having been removed, but cannot understand why it is in pain or how its life has been changed due to its wings having been removed, is it still ethical? I would argue any unnecessary pain is cruel and therefore unethical. This is a wanton act of killing.
Vincent convinced me. A quick painless death. I promise to rescue seversl earthworms next tim ed it rains.
Also, i wouldn't eat a butterfly so it feels a little bit murdery at that point.
Simply eat the butterfly - solved!
i read a story once about some time travelers that accidentally killed a butterfly while on vacation in the past, and it really screwed up their timeline. So no, I suppose.
No time travel involved here, so it could be that if you don't win the holiday, something awful will happen.
Love the second guessing at the end with the ‘why?’ Question.
OF COURSE I WOULD! I've had many a chicken killed for me for one single meal! Why would I think twice about a friggin butterfly!?
Blimey , that's a dark question!
