Would you swap lives with anyone?

Made me think of two words in Swedish that both translate into "Envious"; Avundsjuk and missunnsam. The former meaning that you would like to have what they have or be what they are, the latter meaning that you think they shouldn't have the thing or be the thing, maybe because you feel that they are undeserving or you deserve it better or just simply "If I can't have the thing, you shouldn't either". I often find myself feeling avundsjuk, but rarely (if ever) missunnsam. But swapping? Well, if someone offered to swap lives for a week, then sure, why not? But to trade lives completely? Probably not. After all, there are plenty of things I love about my life that I wouldn't want to give up. And getting all the benefits of someone else's life would also come with taking on any and all downsides of their life. Yeah, you might be able to play the guitar like a god, but you might also find yourself having an STD, or an addiction, a crippling phobia or whatever you can think of that isn't immediately obvious from looking at someone's life from the outside.

No way man.. But I'd happily share mine around I think? ~ smiles ~
