First attempt at a message to patrons

Hello patrons,

As I write this, there are eighteen of you. Eighteen people who have so touchingly expressed their faith in my future videos, that they have pledged money. Eighteen of the keenest and best. Thank you.

This is the first message to my patrons, and I hope that I am using the system correctly. This should cost no one anything, apart from the electricity suppliers.

At the moment, I am not yet offering anything very specific in terms of rewards to patrons, but assuming that I get the hang of how this website works (no guarantee there - I've been using Facebook for years and it remains largely a mystery to me), then in time, and probably thanks in no small part to your contributions, I shall be offering enough to keep you happy.

I am yet to have my Skype talk with someone from Patreon who might explain to me all the things I have already done wrong. One of these was to click 'launch' before doing several other things - whoops! At present, the account is set up to receive donations _per video_ and not a monthly charge. If I can, I will get my account set up such that patrons will have both options. I do hope that everyone understands that the amounts you have pledged are not one-off payments, but repeating ones.

Because I see that I can, I attach a photograph of me dressed as Stoke Mandeville, contemplating the universe. It was taken the Saturday before last.
