The Bayeux Tapestry - all of it, from start to finish
Not since 2012 (The Adventures of Stoke Mandeville) have I spent so long in post production on one video. I thought this would take about three days. It took ten very long days. There are twenty-two animations, and it took seventeen tracks on the editing timeline to get it to work. Much had to be cut out, and many compromises made, but I think it's decently viewable now.
It was my hope to create something that will be a lasting resource on the internet. I dare say it will be superseded by something more technically advanced one day, but I think it will be hard to get much more into a twenty-two minute video that covers the whole of the tapestry.
I decided to spend no time at all explaining what the tapestry is, but instead to dive straight into the story. I think that most of you probably already know what the tapestry is. Perhaps one day I will make another couple of videos on the topic, explaining the basics, but right now I do not want to see any more of the footage I shot for some while.

Would it not be better as a book?
Great video!
The lack of ads on youtube on this particular video is what made me sign up here.
Huzzah!!!!!!!
Very good indeed, Terry Gilliam eat your heart out! ;)
I wonder if it was continually being added to as events unfolded, or if it was all sewn up after? If it was being sewn as it happened, they must have had a ton of fabric
It wasn't drawn from life. It was made in the 1070s.
It was a wonderful and incredibly amusing video.
Great work, loved the additional commentary added to the animations.
Worth it!
Outstanding piece of work, terrific animations and great script. Huzzah!
Thanks.
