Would charlatans thrive in a world with real magic?

I've noticed that a lot of YouTube videos effectively have two titles: one in the text on the thumbnail and another in the listing, which gives us two bites of the cherry. I'm not sure that either title here is great, though.

Anyway, this one is for role-play gamers, fantasy writers, and students of human nature in general.

In a world with real magic, would there be less superstition? (YouTube)

Do you know the 3 book series by Patricia C. Wrede that starts with "Thirteenth Child". It is set in an alternative reality USA. In the world there are three kinds of Magic: European, Asian, and African. Everyone has some ability at magic but can learn more through study. There are even some people who purposely do not use magic but attempt to get along without itl No one can sell a magic spell to anyone else. They can sell the use of a spell to benefit someone. Some plants have magic power in them as well as some animals. The ability to use magic allows people to explore the world. A very entertaining read and/or audible listen.

I am a huge Star Trek TNG fan and you are totally right with Counselor Troi haha. It’s especially bad that she is half-betazoid, making her only half as good at her job, and meanwhile her mother shows up and knows everybody’s thoughts and intents perfectly… I would think they would choose a 100% Betazoid, wouldn’t they? How many Beatles is god supposed to create? Exactly four. And I agree… 4 Beatles is a lot, a great boon upon humanity! In seriousness… You’re totally right about how AMAZING everything is, and I believe that the true key to happiness and meaning in life, is found in the practice of gratitude. And gratitude doesn’t mean saying thank you, it means taking the effort to actually fathom and appreciate everything. Gratitude requires no degree of delusion or distraction. We are in the age where we would easily say, “Ugh, what the hell, my extremely unfathomably shockingly divinely advanced miracle device that fits in my hand right here, is LAGGING for like, multiple SECONDS before I can send a message to the opposite side of the Planet Earth, my day is RUINED!” It’s so ridiculous that I find it hilarious, and I have found that lasting happiness comes from the cultivation of withdrawing, taking a step back, and laughing at just how AMAZING everything is right in front of my face. Like this message I am sending from beside The Great Salt Lake. Gratitude is the true secret keystone of all happiness, and also the path to truth and reality. There’s no room to be dragged down by boredom and depression if you are able to fathom how incredible and luxurious everything is around you. Even when extremely injured and sick, the fact that I have a doctor I can see *immediately* and that other people who have never met me would FLY and take me through the sky to a hospital to save my life at a moment’s notice… just WOW! Great thoughts about magic charlatans, makes sense to me!

I think charlatans would thrive, like they do in reality, where there's any system of belief, religion, politics, that can be manipulated. Charlatans provide a 'credible' avenue for those who for whatever reason need hope where none in hard reality exists. Magic would only make it more plausible.
