Dilaudid messed me up man. I was just in the er for a kidney stone and they said “You’ll feel it immediately.” Even with the warning I said “Woah hey what the fuck?!” Pretty sure my brain did a backflip.
gidion helps people deal, i snorted so hard it hurt. reid was in that hut with tobias and co for 3 days.....
RIP James Vanderbeek (didn’t even realize it was him - what an insane performance)
This smacks to the foot are actually EXTREMELY painful. Dig your thumb into the arch of your foot and feel how sensitive it is. A full strength swing from a farm-strong grown man would feel horrible. Edit to add: Reid actually seized. He had a brain injury and had been repeatedly dosed with very high strength pain killer. Edit again to add: Neurodivergent people that are otherwise unmediated are far more likely to fall into addiction than neurotypical people. It’s usually as a form of self medication for the comorbid depression and anxiety that frequently accompanies high-functioning/high-masking neurodivergence. Reid’s high intellect doesn’t do him any favors in that department because it makes him more aware of the problems around him, especially the esoteric ones that cannot be easily solved.
Also, beating someone on the soles of their feet has the added advantage of making it very difficult to run away even if they do manage to get free. Reid took a very painful beating - not just smacks. Tobias used a belt or stick (can’t remember which one without going back)
37:00 this conversation is something I have thought about forever. It's why I've never even tried smoking, drinking or whatever else. I also like having full control over myself and the idea of being drunk scares me. My family have all had addiction problems besides myself and my sister.
its always funny to me when Alicia starts to lose her cool because a character does something stupid or getting mad because they didn't do something obvious on these types of shows, cuz i sit here and giggle to myself and say "girl it's a TV show you know it's on purpose" lol
oh to be in america where you can be given a morphian opioid by doctors after surgery and then go "oh thats not that bad, thats totally not drugstore heroin" when it literally is exactly that lmao
the really funny thing is, that heroin was, in part, created in the hopes of it being a LESS addictive substitude to morphium...
James Van Der Beek is such a good actor, RIP
Happy early Birthday Alicia
Don't worry as a fellow 30 year old elderly person you are not alone. Now lets get you to the retirement home grandma. We have bingo on Friday.
I don't like drugs or alcohol. I can't stomach not being in control of my own mind. I don't like being not myself even if who I am isn't all that good.
been wondering, the guy playing the unsub; is that the Dawson creek guy?
Yes
Love the reaction of "yeah! Let's split up and chase him into a corn maze". Reid just truly is the classic white male response there. Every other demographic just nopes out of it :P
I forgot this ep was so soon in the series, loved the football reaction, who needs sleep
You know it's tense and stressful when you're uncomfortable even after watching it many times and knowing the outcome.
I love Reid so much that this episode hurts me but it's also so good, the plot, the acting is incredible from everyone just all around
Fact: This is considered one of the best (if not the best tied with another) episode in the series and it totally deserves it
Oh neat, we're the same age
