To be fair, humans have been slaughtering our own animals for thousands of years. Most pre-industrial cultures throughout the world respect animals for these reasons since they provide for us. Now we have no idea how are food is processed, which is such a recent concept to humanity, unless you were rich. Because of this, we don't respect animals the same way and because we don't see it, we ignore the atrocities that go on with slaughter houses & the meat industry. (I saw say this as someone who 100% loves to eat meat, and eats it processed meat like most of us. I just still think its good to be aware and discuss it ^^)
I agree though that we are desensitized to violence, but I feel like it's more of a mindset issue. After all, for most of our existence, humans saw "violence" and death often compared to now, but we got through it together and discussed it as a tribe & community because it affected everyone. It's not like we evolved to watch videos of random animals & strangers get fucked up, then go on about our day yknow. I think that's where the issue lies. This is just imo though Im super interested to here other thoughts & opinions!

My mom is a pure Ecuadorian. When she saw the chefs panicking over the possibilities of killing chickens, she shouted that they should break the necks first before chopping them up. Anyway, the elimination sequence was satisfying this episode.
