14:09 "He's also the guy who was filled with remorse about attacking you, until he decided to turn it into a booty call." is such a wild line coming from Jessica considering what she did with Luke

I believe psychiatrists call that "projection."

Wasn't the whole idea that being knocked out by drugs would stop his power and be his weakness, which is why he had to stay awake for a dozen hours of surgery? So what the fuck happened here? Why were they all still protecting him?

They are a hired security group. He needs people who will protect him by choice, he pays a security company to provide guards, he has not used his powers on them to start with.

ahh i didnt realize you started watching jessica jones! i was catching up on your daredevil reactions over some days and i was hoping you would. it's my favorite of the netflix marvel shows and really important to me. i watched it when i was younger when it first came out and then watched it again as an adult after i experienced similar traumatic topics in this show... the writing hits so much harder now but because of it sits in a really special place to me. i hope you really enjoy it!! (also your newer vtuber model in this that i havent seen until now is soooo cutieful)

Jessica Jones has superhuman durability, but like Spider-Man, she’s more durable against impact forces and falls. Unlike Luke Cage who has unbreakable skin. However, as you can see in the show, Jessica has an accelerated healing factor which is why next time you see her the wounds on her face are gone. She’s nowhere near Wolverine or Deadpool, but it’s enough to deal with minor stuff fast and major stuff efficiently.

Don't do the D!

Jewel/that outfit were old versions of Jessica Jones in the comics.

a security firm, not a law firm.

"I like him so much" Alicia...WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LIKE A CHARACTER!

If you guys are still confused on how killgraves power works, it works like shino's quirk in my hero academia. They actually saw killgrave and decided to use his power, also outside of X men, none of these are mutants, they actually call them the inhumans. I don't know why but yeah.

R
RedVit Productions · August 4, 2026

Shinso's quirk is different than Kilgrave's power. It's explained in the season. And Inhumans are a different sub-species than Mutants, with a different history, but still an adaptation of a main universe marvel comics concept. Jessica and Luke are neither Mutants, nor Inhumans, they're actually classified as Human Mutates, who get their powers from external factors, like Spider-Man, Captain America, Hulk, etc

I think the power of "pushing" is one of the most horrifying power concepts

A
Aliulo · August 2, 2026

That "hiss hiss" gave me immediate "meow meow" vibes, like from The Owl House.

Damn it. Alicia has already watched and fell in love with Lucifer. Oh well, that show was probably too soapy for an entertaining reaction series.

A
Anima Libera · August 1, 2026

I hope they show when/how kilgrave got his powers, was he born with them? cuz a baby kilgrave throwing a tantrum seems like a horrifying (and possibly fatal) thing to deal with

T
Twiska Brand · August 1, 2026

I'm a bit confused why you guys thought Hogarth was working for Killgrave? It was a private security firm, not a law firm.

L
Luk42 · August 2, 2026

its cause they were still focused on their theory from earlier due to how Hogarth made that comment about Killgrave's powers

R
Robert Collard · August 1, 2026

I just love how each and every episode Alicia and PW get more evidence on just ABHORRENT Kilgrave is not just as a Marvel Villian but as a villain in general.

The costume Trish shows off for Jessica in the flashback is Jessica's costume in the comics from when she was the superhero "Jewel". After she met Kilgrave and he royally fucked up her life, she dropped the Jewel identity and just stuck with being Jessica Jones.

D
DeVaunBeats · August 1, 2026

NO Jeri didn't hire them. Kilgrave did. Jeri has no idea who Kilgrave is yet or what he looks like. You guys got the complete wrong information from that scene. Kilgrave didn't want to use his mind control on them BECAUSE Jessica knew his weakness. If he mind controlled them to be his bodyguards and he was knocked out, his control would be severed so he needed to hire them legitimately so they would protect him no matter what

D
DeVaunBeats · August 1, 2026

Just a correction: Jessica didn't jump off the roof with him. She just took him down and then dropped him on the garbage bags to make him think she did. She can fly but she's not good at it so it would have been too risky to actually jump.

S
Sere · August 1, 2026

No, they said that because *he* thinks she went off the roof with him. From his perspective she did all that, not knowing about her faking it

David Tennant is one of the best actors out there in my opinion, and one of the sweetest people. His range is great. If you ever get a chance, you should watch Dr Who. But yeah, here he is genuinely chilling.

I know this is off topic but have you ever watch the interview with the vampire?

K
Kyle Hennett · August 1, 2026

Firm means Security firm not law firm. Jeri is not involved. You are overthinking it.

T
Trey Goldsworthy · August 1, 2026

Did you notice that kid in the Captain America costume at 29:20 which further cements this is completely canon to the MCU.

This isn't a criticism, just a comparision. In the comics Jessica does wear the costume they joke about in the episode and she calls herself Jewel. The comic does this clever thing where when it flashbacks to her being Jewel is turns into a 60s style comic with the Stan Lee style narration "Stan Lee presents the brightest hero in the Marvel universe. Jewel in: The Purple Haze". The dialogue has that fun corny 60s style as well "What's this, a commotion down on the street". She flies down, enters a restraunt that people are running out of and then we see Killgrave who with a few words makes her freeze and suddenly all the colour and that 60s superhero fun just disappears. It's a really clever use of the medium of comic books
