To answer why some times the different mouths on Gurren Lagann move is because there’s two heads and two pilots, if the bottom pilot talks then the bottom mouth moves and the top one moves when Simon in the main head moves

9:20 the mouths moving indicate who in Gurren Lagann is speaking here. Simon would be Lagann and Rossiu would be Gurren
Yeah, this was from an era of anime before the "2 cour" thing. The entire anime aired from April 2007 to September 2007 in Japan.

Let's go more Gurren Lagann! The show is actually NOT 2 courses, but it does have 2 movies that cover the show in two parts (also if you were wondering, the movies are basically just the same as the anime just filtered some stuff AND added some new scenes which, if you do finish the show, I HIGHLY recommend looking up the scene they added for the final episode in the movie because it is a CRIME that scene is movie only)
Just watching the movies in itself is worth it, the additional awesome scenes are worth it alone
just woke up and boom, 2 episodes!
