Vox Machina 4x8

I love the way they handled Scanlan for the series. Originally, he did leave to be with his daughter but he came back later on his own to tell the group about the cult.
Sam did play both Scanlan and Tary but Tary is being voiced by Wayne Brady since Sam was busy kicking Cancers ass just like Alicia. Specifically throat cancer which is diabolical for a voice actor to deal with. But luckily he kicked cancers ass and came back to not only VOICE Scanlan but also SING as him. Sam is AWESOME In the tabletop side, he only had to interact as both characters at the same time once but it was very short and for like a one shot if I remember correctly.
at one point, the group “forced” Sam to have both characters interact with each other as a fun punishment
The VA (and singer) for the evil Bard is Tom Cardy, a great comedy YouTube musician. If you want to see some more of his work I recommend Mixed Messages into Red Flags (the animated versions).
I feel like even if you've never heard of the man, you've probably hears his songs. They got used in so many animations. Especially perception check when Baldur's Gate 3 came out.
Percy should feel honoured to receive a personal hand drawn masterpiece from our one and only saviour, The Traveler.
Let Chaos Reign/Rain
Sam did indeed have to interact with himself.
I think this is probably the only episode out of all the seasons so far i actually don't have a positive opinion of regrading the adaptation. The Bards Lement was...powerful, in the campagin, Sam really went all out on it. Compared to what the party did in the campaign and what they did here, Scanlan was absolutely justified in his outburst, whilst here its...idk, Vox messed up for beind dishonest with their friend but given the world ending circumstances its understandable, Scanlan just kinda turned out a bit whiny. The show took a moment where hes supposed to finally put his foot down with supposed friends who don't truly know him, and turned it into a pity party.
It's weird for me because I agree with a lot of what you said and still believe that season 3 should've ended with A Bard's Lament (if they stuck to their original plan instead of changing it fearing cancellation), but at the same time this episode has the bard battle, which is by far one of the best scenes in the show. It's like, we have one of the most disappointing parts and one of the best parts in the same episode
6:50 thats exactly what happened
Oof. They saved some stuff from the Bard’s Lament apparently. Also, this was probably just me, but for a brief moment when they revealed the Dark Bard in his wide rimmed hat my brain went “Jarlaxle!?”
17:50 Lionel is canonically stronger than Grog. Jon Heder (Lionel) was constantly rolling nat 20s while Travis (Grog) tried to show off his strength and rolled 1s over and over.
Mojo is a real thing
10:58 In the campaign "spice" was an actual spice used for seasoning food, but Scanlan thought it was drugs and tried to get high from it in many different ways.
damn you guys should make a reaction about the table to screen compilation its so fking great ;)
8:30 - Sam remained in CR. Literally the same episode Scanlan left, he jumped right back in as Tary like 10 minutes later. lol As for interacting with himself he actually didnt have to do that until a one shot they did after the campaign ended, because Tary left the group right before Scanlan came back.
Sam not being in this season is partially because he too has survived the big C.
I know animation takes time so yeah, could have been around the time he would have been in treatment/recovery. Also fuck cancer.
