Devlog of mid-month
Devnews Everyone!
Here's a quick update on what I've been working on over the past week since the last release.
Tutorial Level
I've added a dedicated tutorial level to help new players get familiar with the game mechanics right from the start. This should reduce common questions like “How do I attack?” or similar.
The Character Creator is now available immediately at the beginning of the tutorial. I noticed many players weren't aware of this feature until they reached the Warden's office in the Hall of Torture.
The tutorial is optional — if you skip it, you'll start with a default character.
N’akhzeran
This is a key location that serves as a hub leading to three divine realms: those of Torus, Letel, and Bee’h. It plays an important role in the storyline involving the priest from Arknam and various cultists.
Geographically, it's located on the far side of Arknam, separated from the Stormwind Valley by a ruined barbican.
Realm of Torus
In the original version, this area was a simple flesh pit, which didn't fully match my vision. I wanted to show how the Mind Flyer and its tentacles are corrupting the domain of the horned god of Fertility.
With UE5's shader capabilities, I was finally able to implement this properly. Pulsing, slowly moving flesh now covers the walls, floors, and columns of the once-grand halls.
It creates a strong visual contrast between the original sacred architecture and the spreading corruption. This setting feels ideal for a variety of lewd scenes.
Other fixes and progress
Resolved a material conflict that was preventing tattoos from displaying correctly on the barbarian's body.
Continuing work on a deeper level optimization to improve performance.
Implementing full Xbox controller support (UI + gamepad interaction is still challenging, but progressing).
Next, I'll focus on advancing the main quest lines. Overall, this was a productive week, and I'm aiming to keep the momentum going.
Stay Tuned!
