Mid-January Devlog

Hello everyone!

We’ve reached the middle of January, which means it’s time to share some current progress and future plans with you. But first — a few words about the current situation.

The Situation

Ukraine is currently facing extreme consequences after the massive attacks on our energy infrastructure.

Power distribution is severely limited, and very often the voltage is too low to properly run equipment or even charge devices.

Additionally, in most places, there is no heating and no water supply.

Night temperatures regularly drop below –20°C (–4°F).

And yes — communication is also suffering badly (because, surprise, it needs electricity too).

All of this means that a significant portion of my working time is now eaten up by “survival routine”: chopping firewood, maintaining generators, fetching water, trying to keep at least some warmth, etc.

Due to this reality, I’m forced to adjust my usual development cycle significantly.

Pros - I’m sure I will be able to survive in the Frostpunk universe.

Cons - I apparently became an NPC from the Frostpunk universe, lol

No matter what, we're one step closer to spring

Releases

The traditional minor update that usually comes out on the 10th of the month

will most likely be released either on Monday, or I’ll merge it together with the end-of-month update.

It all depends on how much stable working time I can squeeze out of the current situation.

I’m doing everything I physically can under the circumstances.

What’s next on the roadmap?

I’m currently working on the Green Orcs arc + Mind Flyer (and deepening the lore around the tentacles quite a lot). I’m expanding and slightly reshaping the story/background of them.

Also — an important new direction: If Barbarian goes through Purgatory and changes race (for example becomes half-orc, succubus, etc.), this choice will have a direct, noticeable impact on the further plot progression.

Stay Tuned and Take care of yourselves. ❤️

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get through the winter safely and hope this madness from Russia comes to an end soon. Stay healthy, stay safe, and all the best!
