TLB R 0.6.2 Changelog
Hello Everyone!
November proved to be a challenging month. Frequent power outages forced me to build my schedule around electricity availability (like a few hours every 6-7 hours of outage). As a result, productivity took a hit as well as my sleeping schedule.
The bright side? A few days ago, I made significant progress toward energy independence for the project. I anticipate this will dramatically speed up development efforts moving forward. Stay tuned for the full details in the next devlog!
Current Progress Snapshot:
The Black Rabbit Pub!
I’ve add the Black Rabbit Pub location. You can now find it in Devenant (look for the distinct two-story, yellow and blue building).
I’ve also taken the opportunity to refine the pub’s lore and its owner’s backstory, working on a new, small story arc directly tied to the main quest, “Politics are Dirty Business.”
Key Change: Players will now have two different routes to secure the trust of Devenant’s key figures in their struggle against the Mayor (up from the original single path).
To kick things off, the Pub Owner is afflicted by a "Cursed Hunger" and will offer us work specifically so he can indulge his appetite
Mechanics Focus: The Waitressing Role
We are now introducing the core "Waitress Mechanic" within The Black Rabbit! Here’s how this new role will play out:
Seating & Serving: Clients will arrive and claim available tables. Your primary task is to pour their beer and successfully deliver it before the customer leaves in frustration.
The Dirty Table Penalty: Serving a customer at a table still piled with dirty dishes results in immediate confrontation. If you interact poorly with the enraged customer it could trigger two potentially explicit scenes.
Cleaning Tables: To wipe down a table, the character’s hands must be free.
Tray Management: If you pick up the serving tray, the only place you can set it down is on the designated dirty dish stand. If the tray is carrying full beer mugs, you will lose the drinks! (This interaction will have future plot relevance.)
Managing Drunks: Once a patron has had enough (usually two mugs), you must politely speak to them and ask them to leave to prevent them from falling asleep at the table.
Behind the Bar: During your shift, you can speak with the Tavern Owner and prepare food for him. (This interaction will later influence your path through the Prison sequence.)
Heads up: This interaction also unlocks a new explicit scene.
Jail Time Risk: Be warned: attempting to enter the establishment as a regular customer could land you straight in jail!
What’s Next?
As per tradition, the next full release, which will include bug fixes for issues found in previous builds and some extra content is scheduled to be ready before or by the 10th of the month.
Stay Tuned!
