Next Release Update + A Little Experiment!
Hey guys!
Just a quick update! The next release is planned for late next week, so we're getting pretty close!
In the meantime, I've been experimenting with something and wanted to hear your thoughts!
I've made some facial expressions for a specific CG scene. I personally think leaving the characters' faces out of certain scenes works pretty well, since it lets you imagine their expressions for yourself, but I wanted to try something different with this particular scene and see what you guys think!
I've been practicing quite a lot lately! When I first started this project, I wasn't really confident in my drawing skills, but now I'm starting to feel more comfortable trying things like this. So please, be gentle with me! LUL
I've attached a few examples below so you can take a look.
What do you think they're reacting to? 👀
And more importantly, do you prefer this kind of scene without visible facial expressions, or do you think adding them makes it better?

I like the drawings with facial expressions! The drawings without the expressions are nice, too. They just give a different vibe. It might make sense to draw an expression if you want to emphasize what the character is feeling, like you have here, and to use drawings without/with less expression when you want the player to wonder what that character is thinking. You see stuff like this in anime/manga when a characters' eyes are obscured by shadow, for example. As for what they're reacting to here... maybe they're thinking "Great, now the players are gonna *see* how embarrassed I am!"

Love it~ PS: Is Kev supposed to have a faux-hawk?? The early full-body hair reads differently than the more recent art.
I'm not sure I'd call it a faux hawk, since the sides aren't that short and there's not much of a fade. He also has a bit of a fringe. He was always supposed to look like this, but I feel like I was only able to portray his hairstyle properly in this one because it's a much closer shot than anything I've done before. I'm really torn between making him look the way I wanted him to from the beginning and keeping his appearance consistent with how I originally drew him. I've been drawing so much since I started this project that I just wanna redo everything now, LUL! But I promise I'll only go back and redo things after the story is finished.
I do prefer visible facial expressions. If my imagination was that good, I wouldn't be playing the game lol
