🏷️ LOST PROPERTY | Preview

Your Sims can finally get a job sorting out what the city leaves behind. A 10-level career that starts you elbow deep in the bins and branches three ways into the job you actually want. Base game compatible. No packs, no XML Injector, no other mods needed.

THE LADDER

Bin Sorter (Β§14/hr) β†’ Tag & Log Clerk β†’ Counter Assistant β†’ Lost Property Clerk. Mon–Fri, 9am. Then at level 5 you pick a side of the department:

CLAIMS COUNTER β€” Tue–Sat, 10am β€” Β§58 to Β§300/hr
Claims Assistant β†’ Reunion Coordinator β†’ Senior Claims Officer β†’ Head of Claims β†’ Reunions Specialist β†’ Keeper of Lost Things

ARCHIVE & IDENTIFICATION β€” Mon–Fri, 8am β€” Β§55 to Β§340/hr
Cataloguer β†’ Archivist β†’ Provenance Analyst β†’ Identification Lead β†’ Chief Archivist β†’ Curator of the Unclaimed

RECOVERY & AUCTIONS β€” Wed–Sun, 7am β€” Β§52 to Β§390/hr
Crate Hauler β†’ Recovery Agent β†’ Route Sweeper β†’ Auction Runner β†’ Auctioneer β†’ Liquidator of the Unclaimed

They trade against each other on purpose. Claims has the warmest moodlets, Archive works the shortest week in the career, Recovery pays the most but works weekends.

HOURS

Seniority buys time back instead of adding to it. Levels 1–5 are five 8-hour days, levels 6–8 drop to five 6s, and the top two levels are four days. Archive goes shorter still, finishing on four days of five.

PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS

The three branches open on three different skills. Charisma, Logic and Fitness β€” so the choice at level 5 is a real one. Later levels add Handiness and Mischief. Just like a base game career, the requirement shows in the career panel. The last level of each branch has no skill gate; the performance bar alone gets you there.

DAILY TASK

A repeatable task that tracks progress and pushes your performance bar. Each branch counts something different:

  • Lost Property β€” rummage through things, tidy a shelf, mop up, or ask around

  • Claims β€” talk to people, and rummage through things

  • Archive β€” research or browse on a computer, read, take a book off a shelf, repair something, use a microscope

  • Recovery β€” jog, work out, and rummage through things

WORK EVENTS

Twelve of them, roughly one a week. Take one on and it rolls against the relevant skill, succeed and you get a moodlet and a push up the bar, fail and you get a moodlet you will not enjoy. Turning one down costs half what failing does.

  • Two Sims, One Umbrella β€” both describe it, neither has a receipt

  • A Wedding Ring in a Coat Pocket β€” there is an engraving, and a date

  • Something in the Duffel Bag Moved β€” everyone is looking at you

  • You Have Lost Your Own Keys β€” you, of all Sims

  • The Entitled Claimant β€” he would like to speak to somebody senior

  • A Box of Childhood Photographs β€” Β§200 of your own money to chase it properly

  • The Unlabelled Heirloom β€” Β§350 for a clean that might raise the maker's mark

  • The Depot Sweep, in the Rain β€” Β§400 finder's share on a good haul

  • Auction Night β€” take the rostrum and your cut rides on how well you work the room

16 SOCIAL INTERACTIONS

A dedicated "Lost Property" pie menu, unlocked by your level and your branch, each social with its own moodlet. Vent About Umbrella Claimants, Explain Provenance Tracing, Talk About Auction Night, Wonder About the Single Shoe.

10 CUSTOM MOODLETS

Ten icons across every emotion the career touches, including the ones for days that go badly.

INSTALL

Drop both files into your Mods folder (one sub-folder deep is fine):

  • OtterStudio_LostPropertyCareer.package

  • OtterStudio_LostPropertyCareer.ts4script

Then turn on Script Mods:

  • Game Options β†’ Other β†’ tick "Enable Custom Content and Mods"

  • AND "Script Mods Allowed" β†’ restart the game
