The Plum Telephone Company is now in your neighborhood!

Hello Test Subjects!

Your Sims can forget what a smart phone is and flash back to last century with a good old landline. From inventor Alex G. Plum, The Plum Telephone Company is connecting the first transcontinental copper telegraph & telephone line in Llama Nation to your local exchange.

The Plum TelCo Telephone includes nearly all interactions available from the original phone (including Mods) and plays a custom animation in its place!

• CORE LIBRARY >= 1.40 IS REQUIRED TO USE THIS MOD

• Available in 3 swatches: Beige, White, Black

• Unlike Simzlink, no extra work is required to use the phone. Just place one or more down and start making calls!

• Please Note: Only teens and older can use the Telephone; The animations currently only support Counters and Dining Table height surfaces.

• You'll receive up to 3 phone calls per day ranging from chatting, invitations, and perhaps some other unwanted calls.

  • Because Sims now share a phone line, if the call was intended for a specific Sim and someone else answers, the caller will ask for the intended sim and wait on hold for 20 sim minutes for them to pick up.

  • As long as you queue up the Answer Call interaction while the Telephone is ringing, it will continue ringing and stay queued until your Sim can make it there, so don't worry about missing the call because a sim steps in dog poop, slips in a mud puddle or cause autonomy is just booty.

  • You can toggle Allow Incoming Calls under Settings on any Telephone.

• 80s Tech Upgrades

  • Install the Caller ID Upgrade to get a notification when the Telephone rings, identifying the caller.

  • Install the Answering Machine Upgrade to let callers leave a message if you're not available at the moment. Check the Answering Machine on the Telephone to "listen" to your messages. The messages are customized based on the call type and your Outgoing Message.

  • Both upgrades are installed for the entire lot and automatically apply to every phone.

• Disable Mobile Phone Access for an individual Sim by shift + clicking and toggling the setting under the Plum Telephone Co category. The Mobile Phone in the UI will be disabled, and if you have the latest version of the Smarter Phone Use mod, it will also disable their autonomous use and idles.

  • This currently does not disable the Mobile Phone calls and texts. You can reduce those by toggling the Friendly/Romantic Invites and Requests setting in your Game Settings under Gameplay.

  • Sims will still need to use their Mobile Phone to answer career related calls.

The Plum TelCo Utility Cabinet decor is available in a pole-mounted and wall-mounted variant each with a pristine and rusty swatch! It currently has no additional functionality, just some lore-building ambiance.
