Suite Life 1.9 Update w/ changes that will affect everyone.
A new update for Suite Life is now available with some fixes and changes that will impact everyone.
🚨 First, please remember and respect that I will not provide support in the patreon comments. Just exclaiming that things are broken is not helpful to anyone. If there was a bug big enough to affect everyone it would be caught sooner than later. Many simmers are unfortunately abusing the freedom of the hotel system and pushing the limits of their hardware specs and the game itself, then blaming me for it. Building a 6 level monster super resort on a 64x64 lot with 15 guest suites and every perk activated is just not going to work. Staff cannot complete their duties with the simulation lag this causes. The game doesn't even run well on a simple residential lot half that size with a maxed out 8 sim household.
Some restrictions need to be put in place to ensure baseline performance and hopefully relieve the support team, who volunteer their time to help.
Hotels are now limited to five (5) active Hotel Perks. Existing hotels are unaffected until the next time you change the Perks.
A maximum of six (6) guest suites will be booked at the same time. (This is probably still too high, but we'll see)
A maximum of three (3) sims per staff type will clock in.
Additional Fixes:
Fixed "Allowed Occults" and "Allow Guests to Bring Suitcases" setting not saving.
Additional fixes for hotel data exceptions that occur on and off lot.
Fixed hotel business closing when off lot.

I wish 24-Hour Pool and Quiet Hours didn't count against the perk limit, since neither actually affects staffing afaik. The hotel I was most recently playing with has a bar, massage table, and a kitchen for room service/continental breakfast; it's frustrating that now I have to decide which "flavor" perk to remove because *other people* were being jackasses, even though it was a small lot that my system handled just fine. Still, can't really blame you since this fandom doesn't know how to behave (see also: every major patch day.)

I'm sorry, your core module has been corrupted and has caused conflicts with the baby's growth. Please take the trouble to update it
I feel this is also for the main game, people expect miracles to be possible and cry and moan when their PC/game/save bites the dust because it's overworked.
i use the Shining Hotel so let me see how rooms that one has
Sounds sensible! I usually open one other suite for booking other than the household(s) I am booking in, just to have someone else there but that's all I need for it to feel like like. Also I am using hotels mostly to visit worlds, not to have a ton of stuff to do onsite. My sims are there to travel and see new sims and new places. I guess that's my feeling irl too.
Thanks for the update. I find the sweetspot to be between 4 to 6 suites. That is more than enough imo.
Wow, I'm just playing with a 3 room BnB and people are trying to build 64x64 mega lots and shocked when the game lags. Sad you had to restrict the mod because adults can't be adults. By the way, every time I see my suite life keychain I just smile. Great merch!!
Me, too! I have a key from a vintage suitcase that has been collecting dust for years! (The top of the key looks like a bellhop with the little cap, a face, and everything.) The key was cute before but, now that I've attached it to my lot 51 keychain, it's on display with all the other things on my game shelf as well as the Lot 51 sticker that came with it. This type of on brand merch is exactly what you're talking about! We love to see it <3
