Hey,
A lot has happened in the last few weeks (I feel like I've said this before). If you haven't heard, many prolific YouTubers have left the Creator Network and are leaving Sims 4 entirely in response to the potential sale of EA.
Since I got my first computer, modding has always been a form of protest - circumventing, hacking and introducing things to games and programs that were never intended by its developers. I never expected to be accepted into the Creator Network and I have truly been confused on why and what my purpose in it was ever since. I personally haven't felt a sense of community from it as everyone is basically in competition with each other.
Earlier this year changes were made to the Support a Creator program that meant I no longer receive payouts from Creator Code usage, effectively making it worthless. I personally think members announcing not to use their code does nothing. Sure the payout comes from EA but it is directly moving a percentage of a customer's payment to the creators away from EA, and creators shouldn't be punished for this. Despite that, the code does nothing for me and I don't expect people to buy DLC for me to meet that threshold. I will leave the Support a Creator program.
The best form of protest is to not purchase EA products at all. No creator code necessary. With base game being free, you should support the creators out there directly who provide content that enriches your game more than the regurgitated packs that are made now. Tell your stories that go against the grain.
At this point many of us Sims players have made an investment, literally over $1000 dollars, and it shouldn't have to be completely ruined and thrown away because of the choice of a few board members (like everything else right now). Until the sale closes or I get kicked out, I want to remain in the Creator Network to see what happens. It gives me access to information that can still benefit all of us players and creators as close lipped as the company is.
I will use my platform to continue providing content that does not require paid DLC to use. I have previously commissioned artists in the Sims community using my revenue to create brand new AI-free animations, meshes and textures and will continue to do so. A new mod with multiple artist commissions is in the works! Your funds are being used to directly support the community.
I still want to continue with my upcoming Suite Life Keychains which will include an online gallery promoting builders! Revenue from the keychains will be donated to Feeding America to help put food on the table for families affected by the current U.S. government shutdown.
I don't want to see this game die with the history and impact it has had on my life and yours too. This should be a rebirth with the community taking its game back.
<3 Lot

I don't think it's going to die and the deal hasn't even been approved yet. There's investors that have to see if it is even worth having there money tangled up with madness we shall say. The way things are going right now a lot of investors overall are not happy.
Thanks for the info.
All the likes in the world will still be too few for this post 🙏🏻 Bless you, Lot!
Nicely worded. I will not buy anything else from EA! Ive been playing since TS1 and appaeled by EA news. I have great gratutite for all the creators and their work!
In solidarity
I've been in this community since TS1 and made some of my closest, online friends because of The Sims. I'm not actively purchasing anything that may be released in the future, but I am staying around to support the creators I love and respect. There's never been any love lost between EA and me, so I'm just as anti as I've ever been... just with a helping of real anger that goes deeper than a video game. I keep saying that, by the time the sale goes through, TS4 will likely be a borked, truly unplayable mess, anyway.
Just like others i have been play the sims since 2000, this is the first game introduce by my classmate. since they released the sims 2 i have been support by purchased the game/dlc, but the news really broke all players n mod creators hearts. I never knew this 2025 will be the end of my sims journey(will not purchase any product from EA). And at last thank you and all the mod creators for these hard works whenever mega update you guys always tried to update all of your mod so that all of us can play the game more realism. We really appreciated your mods/hard works.
So with you on everything and I just feel so bad for you because of all your hard work and contributions, cheer up champ!
I am just scared for all of us who played Sims thru Sims 4 to hear this news. I don't if I should totally delete the works of Sims 4 OR NOT
This is the kind of announcement that I like to see! Thank you!
I’m not planning on buying anymore packs for the sims 4 so I’m heavily relying on mods & cc going forwards (I say this like I already don’t 😂) but love your work & appreciate you!
Thank you for being honest! For me it's not even about the money, this game is an escape for me ever since Sims 1. It's the only game I have ever played that made me feel more at peace with all the chaos in this world. I wish you the best and hopefully things will look better in the future.
I've said it before I'll say it again: Modders and creators are the real MVPs. Thank you for everything!
Thank you for the transparency
What I like about modders like you is that you seem to know and provide what the community wants and needs. EA often either doesn't, or they don't seem to care. I wonder how much they care if the sale goes thru?
I would just like to say I am personally grateful for your contributions to the Sims 4 Community. I sympathize with you and your concerns regarding this subject. Its a real concern to those of likeminded people. I hope for the best for you and yours. Thank you for the years of mods that Sims should have provided. <3
Like many others here, I have been a long-term simmer since 2000. I have also invested heavily in Sims 4 to secure all the DLC. I would hate to see my favorite modders leave the community over this. Owners and investors come and go, but that still doesn't change the fact that the creators and the modders make the game worth playing. I am glad that you are willing to hang in there and see how this plays out. Far to many creators are jumping ship for PR reasons without actually giving everything time to settle down.
I like that you are thinking with flexibility and imagination (of course). I think modders have a real place in keeping vitality and inclusiveness in the game and protecting the games we play from some aspects of what might come. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness- and your mods!
100%, I've been playing Sims for over 25 years (since it came out), and I'm not giving up on the thing that brings me joy and peace, for what amounts to no reason.
Exactly how I feel! I've spent so much money on this game and have been simming since the absolute beginning (yes, I am that old). Nothing will take this hobby away from me. I'd love it if the Sims franchise was sold off to another company, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Thank you for everything you do for us - I doubt I'd have stayed playing TS4 if it wasn't for modders like you. <3
thank you for saying this and also for staying it means a lot to me and for what all you creators have done for us. Therfore, without y'all we would be fxd ❤️❤️❤️❤️🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
yayyyyy i’m glad you are staying 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thank you for your statement. You're so right
Thank you for this statement. (To be perfectly honest, it was baffling to me why simmers would give some of their money to the "creators in the network," when those same "creators in the network" got everything for free.) There is more I could say on these many issues as it relates thereto... (i.e., What if this sale doesn't get approved? ...) Thanks again.
Thank you for everything you do in the community you’re very much appreciated!!
I only purchase from creators I stopped buying EA games after for rent.. its just a money grab i'd rather support the ppl that make the game enjoyable
Thank you, I was actually anxious, but your words helped me.
thank you for all you do in the community and I am hopeful and hoping for the best
Thank you so much for everything that you do! You are super appreciated!
Thank you for all you've done and continue to do
I love this. I would be happy to put my $ and support to my favorite modders and creators rather than ea's pocket.
Ty
Oh my my my! You took the words right out of my mouth! I actually haven’t played for 3 months, and that is because I’m so fed up of how EA treats it. I bought fairies but haven’t played it…I absolutely love your mods which are more like expansions anyway. You have featured on one of my videos, and will continue to do so as long as you are modding. I love how you are so helpful in the community, I’ve even recently made my own mod using your TDESC to make a trait for the bowel disease I myself have trouble with. It’s modders like you and Lumpinou who make our community great, not the simfluencers on social media. I will play at some point when inspired, probably from one of your mods, let’s be honest. I’m in all likelihood going to buy Paralives when that comes out in another 5/6 weeks, but the sims will be my first love, and your mods made 4 so much more enjoyable.
So impressed with this statement!! I am so happy that you realize it is you and the other modders and custom content creators that make this game playable for us. EA's DLC's are terrible and they get worse with each release. So I support boycotting EA's new releases but I'm not willing to stop playing the game I love. Thank you for supporting us!!
Thank you for being a light a lot of us need. Been playing the Sims since 6th grade and i am 36 now. Yoy and other creators are giving me a better experience than EA has ever.
I agree 100% I stop buying the gaming packs because of the things that are happening and tune is harder right with all that is going on in the world. And I have to use my money wisely. But I will still support the moders who make the game worth playing . Thank you for all your hard work.
Thank you 🙏🏽 Your words and work are appreciated and inspiring 💕
Thank you for all you do and for saying this! I love this game it’s literally my safe haven and I’d hate for it to be gone
100!! AGREE! Thank you for this and for all your amazing work. Without all the content creators and modders, Sims 4 would have been a complete sh*t for sooo long. I haven't bought anything from EA for a while now. I prefer to spend my money supporting the cc creators and modders who have made Sims a nice game where I return to from time to time.
I am concerned with the sale of EA to a nation that doesn't allow "free" thinking! I know EA says nothing will change but how are they going to continue without the representation of freedom of expression when it's not allowed?
In the end the current employees may all leave which will probably stop development of the game completely, and tbh it needs that. They can't prevent us from expressing ourselves. FiveM coexists with GTA V giving a free slate from all built in content and it's thriving. We can freeze TS4 in time and enjoy it as it "was" like the older games.
Well said 😊
I feel like these simmers walking out is bad! The more they do this the more I feel like we will soon lose this game. Just hope they change their minds.
them walking out is not bad - they are taking a stance against this buyout, as creators with the highest views, most subs and money gained from this game. u can always just 🏴☠️ and keep enjoying the game, without giving coins to EA.
Based and goated. I'm sorry I don't know how to speak like a human being, but well said.
Thank you for everything you do. You will always have our support ❤️
This was well said. You will always have my support.
YES, YES , YES!!! THANK YOU!!
We appreciate all you do!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love the work you do ❤️❤️❤️ thank you!
