Suite Life Beta 13 Now Available for Everyone

Suite Life Beta 13 is now available for everyone with Version 0.13.1. Please read the notes below before getting getting started:

📝 There have been significant changes to hotel staffing. Previously, Chefs were hired on a curve based on the number of stoves in the staff rooms with a max of three. Now a Chef will be hired for each stove (similar to the original release of Suite Life). You will need to manually turn off "Hire Staff to Tend Object" on the stove/oven to reduce the number of Chefs, however you now have full control!

📝 I have looked into the Small Businesses and they unfortunately will not be compatible with the Hotel venue. I would have to completely start from scratch. Hotels will probably continue to evolve into a hodge podge of all different systems seen in Get to Work, Dine Out and Hobbies & Businesses. I do hope to have an implementation of Hotel Ownership for the next beta release (possibly this summer?) including purchasing/selling, full staff hiring and the ability to assign rooms to an Owner Suite where your household can sleep. Eventually if employee tasks are separated out similar to Hobbies & Businesses, it would allow owners to take on any staff role like concierge, housekeeping, etc.

New Barista Hotel Perk!

Hire a Barista to tend Espresso Bars (Get Together), Bubble Tea Counters (High School Years), or Coffee Counters (Businesses & Hobbies) in the common areas!

Additional Changes

• Fixed hotel data (kitchen menus and settings, etc) disappearing when saving the hotel lot in Manage Worlds.

• Fixed Request Table interactions appearing for Sims not checked in.

• Added custom icon for Bar Service

• Changed tags used for Surface Type settings. This should allow more objects than before including surfaces that may not be compatible. (Adds Continental Breakfast support for the new Bigger Gatherings Banquet Table included in the Blast from the Past event)

• Improved Continental Breakfast delivery so each order goes to a different designated table. Sometimes food would be delivered to a table that had already been served.

• You can now save custom Kitchen Menu Presets! These are accessible globally across all of your saves. The new "Save Current Menu as Preset" option is available in "Customize Kitchen Menus" on the Concierge Bell. A new lot51_hotels.dat file will be generated in your Mods folder. You should keep this file between updates!

• Added "Allow NPC Auto Booking" toggle on Guest Room doors to prevent sims from autonomously checking in to specific rooms. This can help reduce sim count and keep the rooms locked from other guests. You can still manually check in to these rooms as the player.

• Added "Minimum Vacancy" Hotel Setting to control the number of rooms that should stay vacant at all times. This is an alternative to the Auto Booking setting to allow any room to be booked autonomously but reduce sim count on the lot.

• Shifts for each Staff Type/Hotel Perk are now all synced together based on 4 shift blocks:

  • Morning: 5am - 11am

  • Afternoon: 11am - 5pm

  • Evening: 5pm - 11pm

  • Late Night: 11pm - 5am (Available via 24 hour Services)

• Staff will work for 8 hours so they may work during multiple shift blocks.

• Improved shift rotation to clock out sims with the longest active shift first.

• When traveling to a hotel after a long period of time, if a staff member has overstayed their shift they will be booted off the lot during zone load behind the loading screen instead of leaving shortly after the loading screen disappears. A replacement staff member will be hired in the background but may take a few sim minutes for them to show up.

• Staffed objects (Bars, Stoves & Ovens) now have individual operating hours that can be customized, for example, Open a tiki bar late night but close the lobby bar late night. This can help reduce the number of sims on your lot by only hiring staff at your own designated peak hours. Note: Operating hours will be saved when sharing the hotel in the Gallery.
  
  

• Similar to the Table Service Podiums, you can choose to not staff a Bar or Stove/Oven at all using the "Hire Staff to Tend Object" setting. This can help reduce the number of staff hired if you want to use the object as décor. Not all staff types support this, like Spa Attendants, Bellhops, Housekeepers.

• You can now release any table claimed for Table Service in case a guest is stuck, or you just want them to leave.
