Suite Life Update: Public 0.7.4 • Early Access 0.8.4

Hi everyone! I have a large bug fix update today improving base mod gameplay for both editions, including npc pets, stability with staff tasks and concierge check-ins. Thank you all who reported issues in discord and helped me troubleshoot.

I tried really hard to get your played sims to pick up suitcases out of their inventory on arrival but they just would not put the suitcase on the ground in the room, it always went back in their inventory. I really want them to be put down so you can open them up! I have another idea to get it working, but these bug fixes were more important to get out asap.

SurelySims and I also have another special motel object in the works and I can't wait to share with Patrons soon.

In this Update:

• "Affinity" scoring has been turned off. This should prevent guests from and moving around and congregating as much while eating/drinking. 

• Staff and Guests will no longer autonomously socialize with walkbys. 

• Staff will no longer autonomously socialize when they have an assigned task. Things should run a lot more smoothly now.

• Further improved situation configuration to fix Porters and Spa Attendants getting kicked out of their room service requests.

• Staff can now call maintenance on their own to fix broken objects in staff rooms/common areas.

• Fixed staff not calling fire department when they detect a fire.

• Fixed pets being excluded from guest filters.

• Guests should be more autonomously inclined to drink their beverages.

• Guests are no longer allowed to autonomously grab 'work lunch' or bake cakes.

• No more free food! You will now be charged after delivery as expected. 

• You will now receive a notification when a Porter has arrived to your room. It will include their portrait so you can focus the camera on them.

• Assigning a bed slots manually should now apply.

• Fixed NPC sims getting stuck in an infinite loop waiting for concierge and acting like karens when the concierge is clearly right there. 

• Fixed Concierge unable to take over tending a bell when the previous shift canceled their tending interaction unexpectedly.

• NPC group leaders who are checking in to concierge should now hold on to their suitcase until they drop it off in the room.

• Chefs will prepare the fallback grilled cheese recipe for quick meals to ensure they'll be plated and delivered. The fallbacks will be improved in the future, especially for orders that are drinks only. The goal is to first make sure all orders can be completed in a minimum viable way.

• Grill recipes should now fallback to grilled cheese for now as well. There will be compatibility checks in the future to allow grilling if there is a grill in the staff room. 

• Fixed exception that could occur when a Chef attempts to resume cooking after reloading the game or traveling.

• Fixed staff infinitely spinning into outfit changes when they are unable to change into their job outfit for some reason.

• Horses are now disabled in Hotel Settings on Penthouse lots.

• Horse and Pet bed assignment is now fully implemented. In the future I would like to allow horse beds to be placed anywhere on the lot. The number of cats & dogs allowed in a room is defined by the number of food bowls as they can sleep on different types of objects besides pet beds.

• Excluded Gates and Openable Windows (HSY) from being set as hotel doors. Gates are currently not supported.

• Fixed NPC autonomous fill pet bowl interaction not added to pet bowls.

• Pets will no longer wait at the concierge bell (and stretch).

• Human toddlers and infants will no longer wait at the concierge bell.

Current Known Issues I'm Investigating:

• Some sliding doors are not consistently working as entry doors (specifically the snowy escape ones have been reported).

• Sims in your household who were standing in the street while you traveled to a hotel on the same street will be pulled onto the lot and join your vacation.

• Player laundry situation (claiming washer and dyer) ends before laundry is done. Not all laundry is getting picked up by sims.

• Coffee cups ordered through room service arrive empty.

• Delivery requests for room service or continental breakfast may become unassigned from Porters and canceled. You will need to re-order your food.

• Chef cooking requests may not be reassigned if the chef was in progress of cooking and was forced to leave the lot for some reason, or if a shift change occurred because of a game reload. You will need to re-order your food.

• Chefs will reset when attempting to cook something that requires dough from a Home Chef Hustle Stand Mixer in the room. They should fallback to grilled cheese, but would like to have the stand mixers work.

• Multiple sims in a single NPC guest room will attempt to do laundry at the same time.

• Ordering discounted food during the Free Food and Drinks holiday tradition does not count towards the goal. This will require an update to Core Library.
