(Update) Instant Pie-Menu - Beta-v5
Its IPM Beta test week of bug bashing is still in progress!
Today is the fifth batch of hotfixes (v5) release day for the inner circle members! Woo!
Fixes:
> This version works to improving general loading speeds for caching. This works faster by cutting out 3/5 of the extra caching bottleneck V4 was hitting when it cached your neighbours palm trees for some reason and invisible objects in the environment.
> Sims hanging around fixed including weird random hangs the sims can experience where nothing happens i have reproduced once and attempted a fix, I have not since seen it. Would be good to know if its still around :)
> Sims being lazy and dull fixed in v4 and better here
> Sims social interactions queue delay fixed in v5
> General processing lag on opening menus moved back to zero seconds from 1 second back in V4, get v5 anyway
> Old cached menu's not going away fixed (not perfect or cant be perfect - unsure yet)
> Modsby's Queue Menu works with V5
> Cache being reused and not reset when changing households fixed but needs testing
How it works?
> Once you click first time it will be cached > those options are saved (cached) and will show to you next time instantly
> While the game is paused it does this for you, but it can some time. This version cuts that time substantially but it always depends on the size of your house or venue
> Silent updates cache after clicking
> Silently updates cache after making a selection
> Silently updates cache of target when option is executed in the queue
> Your sims however are automatically cached but there is no guarantee that fresh options appear when they change. I'm still working on figuring out all the possible ways options are effected and when the cache is outdated.
> Reloading game reuses your saved menus recipies from the database (how many of them depends on the preloader progress)
> You can now see the preloader have loader/total counter, its possible to keep it always visible by typing the command ipm.preloader debug, or turn it off with ipm.preloader off
> If ipm.preloader debug is active then the bar will change colors depending on what its doing: amber = fully cached and doing other passes. blue = rescanning old cache.
> You dont have to worry about it filling fully that much, if it finishes - good for you, most of your items on your log will be optimised for instant click and even on game restart
> You can still use the IPM without the full bar, its only there to help doing "invisible clicking" for you when the game is paused (until i fix automation hang in live mode it will stay in pause)
What i'm interested in testing:
> Run ipm.preloader debug
> your progress bar on pause will be always visible, even after it fully loads (it probably will never fully load and turn amber
> Play with different households, visit different lots. I'm curious to see how it behaves and if its "meh" / "okay" or "wow"
> Any other bugs you might find.
> I do not vouch for universal compatibility with all mods, if you spot one that does not work let me know
> If you experience problems you don't need to uninstall the mod. You can just turn it off with command: ipm.cache off and it will disable IPM
> use ALT + Click to test vanilla pie menu (It always opens you just need to wait your original loading time)

If beta v6 survives this weekend without major incidents then it will go into grace periud and come out on 24th next month
My Windows 10 Defender detected a threat in the mod for some reason, of all days. Should I delete it or add it to the exclusions? Everything was fine before.
Add it to exclusion, that is Smart App on windows asking me to pay them $300/y for distribution of sqllite database, if you Google the error code it targets a lot of legit products and a lot of games, happened to someone in the comments too and they excluded it. If you block it, IPM won't be able to save data to the database because there won't be any
Hi, this mod truly is a livesaver i have, Lumpinou, Adeepingo and Basemental mods plenty of them and this is so fast! The only thing i notice after playing for a while is some sims in the household cant be clicked on anymore. The menu is just gone and then i have to restart to make it work again. Also when selecting another sim the first try opening the menu there is lag and then it dissapears again. But still an amazing mod and a really good job.
oof restarting my game every so often would take so long 🥲 I was gonna pay for the mod rn but i'll wait until it's a little more cooked up :)
I don't know about others but I think v5 is kind of buggier than v4? Probably not it's more that I have a lot of mods and the caching takes time that I have to sit in pause mode waiting for it to be done. And right now the most I guess annoying part (though I still love this mod) is the options not getting greyed out and not updating. I'm trying to get my sims uni homework done but it's still showing her homework from last semester. I travelled ... there she could have done it correctly. I came back home back to last semester homework :D
So far v5 is working well for me. I'll keep playing and report any issues. I like the progress bar - it's a nice indication of what is happening behind the scenes!
Thank you! There is a known bug if you spot it. Some options that should be disabled appear as enabled, please use Alt+Click on those In the meanwhile while I'm working on fixing it!
My windows defender blocked part of it once loaded. ****Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\[Modsby] Instant Pie Menu beta v5\native\_sqlite3_x64.pyd that did not meet the Enterprise signing level requirements or violated code integrity policy (Policy ID:{0283ac0f-fff1-49ae-ada1-8a933130cad6}).
Thank you! No need to worry, its not malware. Its Windows Smart App Control blocking a legit sqllite3_x64 database. I did some google searching and it looks like its common complaint to Smart App Control that it's blocking stuff for things that dont have a digital signature. All i need is to ship it with my hashed Company name, description and file-version metadata, register with a certificate authority. No problem. I'll look into it for next release. It probably won't work without the database, but its safe and you can probably unblock in Smart App Control. Good job, Thank you!
it seems to glitch or struggle when using it during Wicked whims or maybe its just for me idk
Can you describe? I keep hearing about WW. I should probably download and check. Didnt think that would cause compatability issues.
This version is just as fast as V4 but "Get Leftovers" keeps dropping out of the queue. I can do everything else on the fridge except that! The sims can do it themselves if I use the hunger shortcut but I often can't select it myself. I was just trying then and I think I tried to do it 7 or 8 times before it worked.
Hi Carla! Thanks for testing again) Someone reported that disabled actions are not showing as disabled in this version, sorry for that, did not notice during testing. I should be able to fix it for v6
My progress bar has a total of 1,428 on my main family lot. No wonder my progress bar has been cooked 😂
Hi ! Thank you so much you truly are a genius ! Could this mod help reduce the waiting time in Build/Buy mode for an item to appear after searching for it using the search bar? I currently have 500 GB of CC, and it takes two minutes for the item I’m looking for to show up. My PC is a beast, so it’s not the problem.
Hi! no this mod only work on optimizing the pie menu options. But I like the idea, maybe I'll look into that one day too one day, seems a lot simpler than pie menu too
