Tutorial: Writing chord progressions & melodies

This was really interesting to see where one idea might lead to whole track. It's also interesting to notice how jazzy chords and complex harmony really isn't this far ways from us as we think it is. This video has thought me that so long as you play within a scale you can kinda figure out all the jazzy/funky chords just by playing around the piano by ear. Great tutorial!

loved this one! Wondering which Kontakt instrument was used for the bass line in the demonstration? Also as a none Kontakt owner would love any recommendations on bass vsts that are similar to the one used! thanks guys you're both awesome (:

around 16 min in you discuss the switch from Gm to G major (during build)but then in the chords demonstrated with the full bass notes it appears to be a D/A chord as the second chord for the build. Gm,D/A,BbM7,Cadd9 or C6add9..couldn't tell. Not sure which you meant to say is in the build. Pretty chords nonetheless.....

Thanks for that...It's great to see producers with a musicians mind set. Would love to see some info on how you design/create/mix bass sounds such as out of Kontakt with the more complex synth bass/subs. This may be in another video as I haven't worked my way through all of them yet.

That one fried my head a bit, as a guitar player I definitely need to expand my knowledge to the keys!

Hell yeah! That was very informative and inspiring. May my chicken fingers rest in peace, because I am definitely going to try and get better at playing keys now. Thanks a lot!

You guys are my favourite alongside camo&krooked, and the fact that you make the best quality tutorials explaining each month Exactly what i would like to see is still hard to believe!! Thank youuuu!
