Great tutorial. I learned a lot! A rimshot is when the head and the rim of the snare drum are struck simultaneously (e.g., the intro to "Ants Marching" by Dave Matthews Band). Striking the rim with the side of the drumstick while the palm rests on the drumhead is more commonly called a side stick (or cross-stick).
will this Samlepack be avaliable for patreons?

this was an absolute unreal watch, so many cool inspiring techniques here. gonna try this out but with random foley instead
as far as i'm aware, when you hit the snare batter head, if you have your hand a bit lower so that it hits the rim just before the head, that's what creates that ringy almost metallic tone, which is why it's called a rimshot I think, then a cross stick is when you rest your hand on the batter head and have the stick hitting the rim but you're muting the head which stops it ringing out. I'm fairly certain that's how it works, just not sure if my terminology is correct! :)
yay!
