Now this is something I didn't even know I wanted but I'm stoked to try it. I hate taking photoshoots and filming music videos (the performance parts) but this might be a nice alternative sometimes
That's super cool! Really interested in trying touch designer. Appreciate the tutorial, please do more! Is there a way to add in custom 3D models (like from blender) and manipulate the vertices using audio signal?
Absolutely! Here's a couple of tutorials to get you started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ9gBmenn28 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruHVM5KZjB8
Yeyyy Wow, that was a really nice tutorial.. tried a couple of times to do an audio reactive video with audio coming from Ableton , but I always had lagging problems. I’m so happy to have seen this and that I can send audio directly from Ableton through the loopback function of the audio card to touch designer. Geniuuuusss ☺️👌😊Thanks a lot for this tutorial…. really really interesting and inspiring… Woow 🤟🔊
Does anybody knows where to get the TBA 2.5.2? cause thats the vertion I have on my TD, and the one from the Link on de description is 2.5.1, and aparently that just cant comunicate well enough =( I cant find the 2.5.2 anywhere, not even on the TD official site, so I´m a bit concerned! (btw, great video! I´ve been obsessed lately learning TD, so this felt very synchronized to me)
tdAbleton comes packaged with TouchDesigner. If you download the latest version of TD it will include v2.5.2.
Absolutely love the touchdesigner tutorials! Theres so few resources ive found detailing the connection with ableton and tdAbleton interface. I guess a question i have is can you use ableton as a hub for sending midi and audio info from external hardware into touchdesigner? Could I say send midi from my polyend play through ableton to touchdesigner or is there a shorter path to take?
You could do either! TD has MIDI input for handling external MIDI devices directly, or you could pipe everything through Ableton before sending to TD.
only like 10 minutes in but this is so on point to what I've been trying to do for some time. I tried unreal engine using the niagara particle engine but this seems much easier to prototype. very cool!
