Upcoming Update: The Mad Scientist

A new character is coming to The World After Silence — a mysterious mad scientist whose work survived the collapse of civilization.

Your first encounter with him will take place through a new quest. Completing it will unlock an entirely new location: the scientist’s laboratory.

I don’t want to reveal too much about what happens there, but one thing is certain:

You’ll need to prepare carefully before meeting him.

The laboratory won’t be a safe place, and the scientist is not someone you should underestimate. The equipment you bring, your character’s condition, and the decisions you make during the encounter may determine how the situation ends.

Your Choice Will Matter

Depending on your actions, the scientist may become a useful contact rather than an enemy.

Make the right choices, and you’ll be able to return to his laboratory in future updates to:

• trade rare resources and unusual items;

• obtain supplies that may be difficult to find elsewhere;

• take part in new interactions connected to his experiments;

• sell enslaved captives to him.

Not every decision will lead to the same outcome, and some opportunities may be permanently lost if the meeting goes badly.

The scientist, his laboratory, and the related quest are currently being developed for an upcoming version of The World After Silence.
