π New Games, New Arcade Systems Emulated & Rollback Online Multiplayer
TeknoParrot just got a whole lot bigger.
This update brings three newly emulated games, several legendary arcade platforms, expanded support for classic Namco hardware, and one of the biggest expansions yet to TeknoParrot Online.
TeknoParrot does not provide, host, distribute, or sell game files, ROMs, disk images or other copyrighted game content.
Users must obtain game data legally from hardware and software they own.
π Newly Emulated Games
Three more arcade titles are now supported:
Tux Racer
Mighty Moto
Fantasy Soccer
These are now playable through TeknoParrot as part of our continuing work to preserve and support more arcade hardware and software.
πΉοΈ New Emulated Arcade Systems
We're also introducing support for several major arcade platforms:
SNK
Neo Geo MVS
Capcom
CPS1
CPS2
CPS3
SEGA
System 32
System Multi 32
These platforms represent a huge part of arcade history, and bringing them into TeknoParrot also gives us the opportunity to do something much bigger than simply running the games.
π Rollback Multiplayer Through TeknoParrot Online
Supported local multiplayer games on these systems can now use TeknoParrot Online rollback multiplayer.
That means games originally designed for two or more players standing at the same arcade cabinet can now be played online with rollback networking designed to keep gameplay responsive even when players are physically far apart.
This opens up a massive library of classic fighting games, action games, sports titles, beat 'em ups and other multiplayer arcade games for online play.
No original online infrastructure required.
Just TeknoParrot Online.
π Network Arcade Games Get TeknoParrot Online Too
Games that originally supported networked arcade cabinets are also being integrated with TeknoParrot Online support.
So we're now covering both sides of arcade multiplayer:
Local multiplayer games β Rollback TeknoParrot Online
Network multiplayer games β TeknoParrot Online
And this expansion is not limited to the newly added systems.
Namco System 22, Namco System 23, and their hardware variants now also have TeknoParrot Online support.
That means another major group of classic Namco arcade titles can now take advantage of TeknoParrot's modern online infrastructure, bringing even more previously local or cabinet-linked experiences online.
Our goal is to make online functionality a core part of arcade preservation instead of simply emulating the original hardware and stopping there.
An arcade game that was designed to be played with other people should still be playable with other people.
π¦ More Than Just Emulation
Adding Neo Geo MVS, CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, System 32 and System Multi 32 dramatically expands the range of arcade generations represented inside TeknoParrot.
At the same time, expanding TeknoParrot Online to Namco System 22, System 23 and their variants pushes our online coverage even further.
But the bigger step is connecting all of these games through a common modern online platform.
We're continuing to expand TeknoParrot from an arcade compatibility project into a platform where arcade games from completely different manufacturers, hardware generations and networking architectures can live together and be played online.
And this is only the beginning.
Thank you to everyone supporting development and helping us keep arcade gaming alive.
