Regarding Mods: A Statement from GIANTS Software
**This is a screenshot I took while asking the ModHub team whether or not they have a Patreon.
A quick clarification about the recent ModHub discussion
I've received a lot of messages and tags in posts today, so I decided to make a post about it for those who haven't seen what's going on yet.
If you want to read the full explanation, here's the link to the GIANTS Software blog. But, in short, the rules have not changed and the existing guidelines still apply.

The main point that seems to have caused some confusion is whether modders are allowed to have a Patreon.
The answer is simple: yes, modders can have a Patreon. And this isn't just our interpretation — this is coming directly from GIANTS Software, the creators of Farming Simulator.
We've been part of Farming Simulator for more than 10 years, and our first mod was published on ModHub back in 2018, when ModHub was still in its early days.
I'm not going to get into the ModHub remuneration per download in this post. I'll talk about that in more detail and explain our perspective in another post.
But I do want to say this: if you enjoy the work of a particular modder and you're in a position to support them financially, please do so.
Today, the community is one of the biggest forces behind modding. And speaking specifically about Custom Modding, Patreon is currently our only way of receiving direct financial support from the community. We try to give something back in return. We post development updates almost every day, have a highly engaged community across Patreon and Discord, respond to every message we can, have almost daily discussions about our projects, run polls for new mod ideas, collect suggestions from the community, and publish videos explaining our mods and development process.
This support makes a huge difference to us and allows us to keep investing in new projects and improving what we do.
So, my friends, keep supporting the modders you enjoy. It helps more than you might realize.
And finally, thank you for all the kindness, support, and the thousands of messages and tags we've received today.
We truly appreciate it.

Thank you for all your job you doing is so good but in some maps in Mexico like a reforma and mega resources double semi remolques. Stack in. Toll roads. Stack in doble semi remolques thanks so much
I’m all for rewarding modders but I disagree with the cost of monthly Patreon subscriptions . Individually these are high and combined with multiple it becomes excessive. I cannot do what they do so I’ve no real way to value their work other than relate to FS25 and dlcs etc. which can seem unfair given some of the modders work hands down is better than Giants!
I think if they wanted people to not make money off mods means that the dlc for the game should be free. They already make enough of the game alone. The game hasn’t change to much in the last 3 releases. But they charge more for it now.
Custom Modding you do such amazing work! I hope the number of patreon supporters doesn't decline after this.
This is one of, if not THE BEST, modding team out there. Y’all put out the highest quality of mods and always listen to the feedback and immediately help in any way. I believe all of us see that and are more than happy to donate through the Patreon to keep y’all going. Sadly there are some cruddy people out there that take these mods and market them as their own and put them behind a paywall. I want to believe that is what Giants intended on stopping with that post
The way they put "Patreon" right at the top of the list "The following is prohibited:" caused a lot of confusion. Which can be easily understood by reading the whole text and realizing that they are against selling mods through support or payment to unlock content. In the end, they explain that the community should use ModHub and support the creators. I believe you are not doing anything wrong. You have a Patreon as a support channel but you NEVER SOLD ACCESS TO MODS, so there’s nothing to worry about. Your project, just like several others I follow on Patreon, has no problem. Everyone releases their mods, once ready, to the community. Custom Modding is an example of how a Mod team should be: creating a support channel for projects and releasing them publicly once completed.
Exactly, the text was confusing. But it's all good; theoretically, nothing has changed regarding the rules. Thanks, my friend!
They're good at being loud, and in my opinion, modders are the ones who essentially keep the game going. They create the foundation, but without the community and the modders, this game would be nothing. I consider myself an adult, and I don't feel obligated to support modders; in fact, I do it voluntarily because I appreciate their work, and like on your Patreon, it's nice to stay in touch and follow your progress. They can say and threaten whatever they want, but the game is about the modders and the players. They rely on modders to keep the game going, and then they're a pain in the ass when the modders simply ask for an optional donation.
