I wanna do this post to explain exactly how I'll be using donations and why they help me making the game.

First of all, this patreon is only for donations. I have no intention of hiding content behind paywall. My game will be free, including updates. Please, don't donate expecting exclusive content or a special treatment from me, because there won't be such a thing.

Now, how's the money used?

First, NovelAI, the model I use, asks to pay for a monthly sub of 25$ to use it freely (+ 10.000 credits). You can also buy credits separately for 11$.

Then, there is a option that lets you make original characters using 5 credits per image, this make the AI recognize more or less your character, but it also misses more on images that should be easier to generate without it, also, sometime I need to add two to maintain a (more or less) consistent outfit. There is also an option to upgrade images to the size I use for the game, which costs around 2-20~ credits to use. And from time to time, I use an option that deletes the background, which costs a bit less that 150 credits per try (AND HOLY SHIT IT FAILS A LOT).

I use these 3 options while making the gens of the game. You might think they are not a lot, but the game has already more than 1.000 images and I gen a LOT -and I really mean it when I say a LOT- of images to find the perfect one and it only gets harder as I do more difficult poses or try to be creative making something I haven't made before (which makes the AI fail more, spending more of my credits).

I haven't made the calculations and it's kinda off since some months I don't feel myself with motivation to work on it so some months I don't really waste much money besides the monthly sub. Even with that there have been months I have been working on Yuiko completely and I have found myself wasting around 65~85$ (including the sub), which is honestly a lot.

And that's how the money will be used. You might think it's stupid and I waste too much, but I want to be completely transparent about how the donation money will be spent. People that follow me for at least one year know how much aversion I have developed over making money with AI, and I plan to keep my ideals. As I have said, all the donations will go into this. Any surplus, if there is any (I honestly doubt this will have more than 20€ monthly), will be used in paying real artists to create art pieces of the characters from the game or into promoting the game.

That being said, please don't feel forced to donate, I'll keep working on the game until I get tired of it even if I have to use my own money as I have been doing all this time. This is just a little help and a tool to keep me motivated (and if I can get enough to pay a real artist to draw Yuiko's HUGE BAZOONGAS holy shit I tell you that will motivate me for good (I just had to stop for a sec after writing that to calm myself)).
