(MM) Brilla's Side Quest
Meanwhile… Brilla.
While Dryo and Lovi were busy back in Berua, Brilla had quietly disappeared into the forest.
Not because anyone had asked her to.
Not because there was anything urgent.
She simply wanted tea.
Unfortunately, the flower she wanted wasn’t something that grew beside the village.
Hidden deeper in the forest was a small cave where only a handful of them could be found—delicate blue-gray flowers that preferred the cool, sheltered darkness beneath the trees.
Rare.
Beautiful.
And, according to Brilla, absolutely worth the walk.
Of course, the flowers weren’t entirely unguarded.
A small colony of fluffy little creatures had made the cave their home. They looked harmless enough…
Until they weren’t.
Brilla could have fought them.
But blasting the entire cave apart—and probably the flowers along with it—would rather defeat the purpose of coming all this way. 😂
Besides, she had other ways of dealing with them.
The flowers themselves don’t grow outside the region, and even here, they only bloom in cool, sheltered places deep in the forest. Finding more than a handful at a time is rare.
Their petals have a naturally sweet taste—soft and almost creamy when steeped in hot water. There are plenty of herbs Brilla can use for tea back home, but none of them taste quite like this.
They aren’t particularly powerful.
They don’t cure some mysterious illness.
And Brilla definitely doesn’t need them.
She just really, really likes the tea.
So every once in a while, when she’s home and knows a few might be blooming, she goes looking for them.
She only takes what she needs, brings them home, and dries some of the petals to save for later.
A tiny luxury she can’t get anywhere else.
And considering what she has to deal with just to get a few…
She intends to enjoy every last cup.
